Strategy for Maintaining Health: FK UII Holds Seminars and Workshops with Health Experts and Physical Training

Kaliurang (2/9) – Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia (FK UII) held a seminar and workshop on exercise physiology with the theme: "Scientific Seminar & Workshop on Exercise Physiology and Performance", this event was held in a hybrid, face-to-face seminar at the Dr. Sardjito UII and online using zoom meeting media.
In this busy modern era, a healthy lifestyle is becoming increasingly important. One of the most important aspects of a healthy lifestyle is adopting an exercise routine. This physical activity is not only necessary to maintain body fitness, but also plays a key role in maintaining overall health.
The Physiology Department of FK UII plays an active role in educating the public about the importance of exercise in maintaining health and ensuring that the latest scientific knowledge is accessible to everyone. This activity aims to provide a deeper understanding to the general public and also to FK UII students about the importance of sport in maintaining health.
Dean of FK UII Dr. Dr. Isnatin Miladiyah, M.Kes, in her speech said that we often see people experiencing illness at a relatively young age or even dying suddenly. This is caused by stress and daily activities that are too heavy, so the body does not have the opportunity to carry out the necessary rejuvenation.

According to Dr. Isnatin, a regular exercise routine is the key to preventing this condition. By committing to physical activity in our daily activities, we can ensure that our bodies stay healthy and fit. It is hoped that this activity will provide an important reminder about the importance of taking care of our bodies.
Apart from that, Dr. Isnatin appreciated the presence of fitness coaches from the PSSI national team, Coach SHIN Sanggyu, and Coach Nova Arianto, who were present at this activity. It is hoped that Coach SHIN Sanggyu, and Coach Nova Arianto will share their experiences and knowledge about practicing physical activity with participants, so that they can start their journey towards a healthy lifestyle with simple steps.

In this seminar activity, three speakers who are very competent in their fields have provided valuable insights to the participants. Here is a summary of their presentation:

The first speaker was Coach SHIN Sanggyu regarding "Managing the Physical Fitness of the Indonesia Men's National Team: Challenges and Lessons Learned". Coach SHIN Sanggyu provides valuable insight into the physical fitness management of the Indonesian men's national team. In his presentation, he discussed the various challenges faced in maintaining athlete health and fitness, as well as lessons learned from experience in the field. One of the main challenges that Coach SHIN Sanggyu highlights is in fitness management, understanding diet, lifestyle and environmental conditions that are different from the players' areas of origin. As well as the high pressure and expectations of the Indonesian people towards the national team.
In conclusion, Coach SHIN Sanggyu's presentation provided an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced in maintaining the health and fitness of the Indonesian men's national team. With his experience and knowledge, he provides valuable insight into physical fitness management in the context of international sport, as well as how to overcome various obstacles that may arise.

The second speaker was Dr. Mirza Hapsari Sakti Titis Penggalih, S.Gz., MPH, RD, gave a very informative presentation on "Nutrition and Dietary Strategies: The Importance of Nutrition in Professional Athlete Performance". In his presentation, Dr. Mirza highlighted the importance of nutritional aspects in the performance of professional athletes. He discusses how proper nutrition can have a direct impact on improving an athlete's performance, faster recovery after training or competition, and preventing injuries caused by malnutrition.
One of the main points emphasized is that professional athletes need planned and measured nutritional intake. This includes the right food choices, a balanced ratio of macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, fat), as well as consuming enough vitamins and minerals to support the body's needs during high-intensity exercise.
Dr. Mirza also discussed the benefits of good hydration in maintaining body fluid balance and its effect on athlete performance. He underscored the need for specific nutritional planning for each athlete, considering individual differences in their bodies and needs.
The third speaker was Dr. Alfan Nur Asyhar, AIFO-K, who is the PSSI National Team Doctor. General Medical Officer FIFA World Cup U-17, Indonesia gave a presentation on "Medical Considerations of Optimizing Physical Fitness in Elite Athletes: Case Studies" In his presentation, dr. Alfan discussed the importance of medical aspects in efforts to optimize athletes' physical fitness. He introduces a variety of relevant case studies to illustrate the medical challenges and strategies involved in maintaining athlete health and performance.
Dr. Alfan provides an in-depth understanding of the importance of regular athlete health monitoring, effective injury recovery and injury risk management. He also discussed how proper medical monitoring can help detect health problems early, which can interfere with an athlete's performance if not treated properly.
In addition, this presentation also covers aspects such as nutritional management for recovery, monitoring of chronic medical conditions, and preventive measures implemented in the Indonesian national football team.
With his experience and knowledge as a national team doctor, dr. Alfan provides valuable insight into how medical teams work together with coaches and athletes to achieve optimal performance. The case study he shared also provides a concrete illustration of how medical aspects can play an important role in the success of the Indonesian national football team.
This presentation enriches understanding of the medical efforts required to maintain elite athletes' physical fitness and ensure that they are ready to perform at the highest levels of future competition.

After the seminar session was over, the activity continued with a workshop led by Coach SHIN Sanggyu and Coach Nova Arianto. These two speakers provided practical education to participants in order to provide a deeper understanding of certain aspects of health, physical fitness and training.
Coach SHIN Sanggyu continued by providing insight into physical fitness management in the context of the national team. He may discuss specific training techniques used in the training of professional athletes, as well as how to overcome common problems that arise in maintaining their physical fitness. Workshop participants can practice and understand the real application of the concepts that have been discussed.
Meanwhile, Coach Nova Arianto took a role in providing practical guidance on various physical exercises and training techniques. In this workshop, participants may be given the opportunity to directly try these exercises under the guidance of Coach Nova. This allows participants to experience for themselves how proper exercise can affect their body and fitness.
These two trainers will focus on practical approaches that participants can apply in their daily activities, whether as athletes or individuals who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle. That way, participants can take home knowledge that they can apply to improve their own health and fitness or in the context of their sports team or club.(Ra)
