Message for Young Doctors, "Learn by heart because your work will involve life and death"

Kaliurang (11/04)- Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia (FK UII) is again holding Islamic training activities for young doctors who will regularly take part in the doctor's professional program at the hospital. During the April 2023 period, FK UII provided Islamic training to 29 Young Doctors which was held at the Auditorium of FK UII on 10-11 April 2023.

In his remarks the Dean of FK UII, represented by the Deputy Dean for Religion, Student Affairs, and Alumni, dr. Zainuri Sabta Nugraha, M.Sc, congratulated the young doctors for their success, who have passed their bachelor's degree and will soon enter the professional stage. "Congratulations, you have passed your bachelor's degree, you will soon enter the professional stage at the hospital. I need to emphasize that our movements, our actions, really represent FK UII, so this young doctor's Islamic training is very important to remind us, to maintain our trust, faith, morals in serving at the hospital, "said dr. Zainuri.

The debriefing program began with the presentation of material about the Aqidah and Akhlaq of Muslim Doctors at the Teaching Hospital by dr. Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK(K) and continued with material on Becoming a Professional and Successful Young Muslim Doctor during Koas delivered by dr. Agus Taufiqurrahman, M.Kes, Sp.S.

dr. Agus conveyed the professional characteristics of a doctor which includes 7 competencies, namely effective communication, clinical skills, scientific foundation of medical science, management of health problems, information management, self-awareness and self-development, and moral ethics, medicolegal and professionalism and patient safety.

In the material dr. Agus also cites an argument about the importance of preserving human life, namely in QS. Al-Maidah: 32, "And whoever preserves the life of a human being, it is as if he has preserved human life forever." dr. Agus advised the Young Doctor, "Learn by heart because your work will involve life and death", concluded dr. Agus.

In this Islamic debriefing, young doctors are also provided with material on the morals of a Muslim, interactions with others, older people, teachers, and association with the opposite sex delivered by dr. Tien Budi Febriani, M.Sc, Sp.A. In addition, in the last session material was presented on the topic: "The Obligation to Maintain Worship/Fardu Prayer in the Middle of Clinical Registrar Routines" and "Fiqh of Worship for Sick People" delivered by Ustadz Fajar Fandi Atmaja, Lc, MSI.
