Inauguration of the Goat Cages and FK UII Social Service

Ngandong (27/6) – In welcoming Eid al-Adha 1444 H, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia (FK UII) held a social service and the inauguration of a goat pen in Ngandong Hamlet, Girikerto, Turi, Sleman on Sunday (26/6). Social service consists of several main agendas. First, medical examination accompanied by screening of blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid levels by FK UII lecturers and laboratory assistants. Secondly,, a sermon themed "Happy and Productive Life" by dr. Agus Taufiqurrahman, Sp.S. And Third, a food bazaar in collaboration with FK UII and Baznas.

According to the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. dr. Sunarto M.Kes, Ngandong Hamlet is a village under the guidance of FK UII for 12 years. FK UII has provided a lot of coaching not only related to health but also coaching in the economic and religious fields. "Our dream is to develop a tourism village. Assistance from the local government for internet connection, clean water supply, and road paving is needed. ,” said Dr. dr. Sunarto.

The social service activities were also accompanied by the inauguration of the goat pen, assistance from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia. The inauguration of the occasional goat was attended by the Chancellor of UII, the Regent of Sleman, and the Director of Feed, Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia.

UII Chancellor, Prof. Fathul Wahid, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D in his speech hoped that the campus could benefit through various programs. UII will try to contribute to the creation of social welfare. Meanwhile, the Director of Feed, Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, drh. Nur Saptahidayat appreciated the activities carried out by FK UII. Collaboration between village communities and universities is very important.

Health examination social service activities

In her remarks, the Regent of Sleman, Kustini Sri Purnomo hopes that the Ngandong residents will also receive guidance regarding sharia-compliant cage management and slaughter. "I hope that later this assistance will benefit our residents in Ngandong, and at the same time our residents will also be given guidance on how to manage sharia, the language of slaughter is also sharia," said Kustini Sri Purnomo.

Kustini Sri Purnomo said that the aim of this joint activity was hoped to be able to provide blessings for the community. "Hopefully the goats whose pens will be inaugurated will be of use to us, and we, our residents in Ngandong, will have halal and blessed sustenance, and later be sincere with a common goal," he said.
