Kaliurang (UII News) – Indicators of the success of the medical education process for FK UII can be assessed from the success of alumni in carrying out their roles at higher levels of education as well as in various fields of work that they carry out professionally according to their interests and abilities.

On various occasions, the role of alumni in advancing the quality of a formal educational institution is often not taken seriously. Even though alumni are important assets that must be embraced and developed as early as possible.

This was conveyed by dr.Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK as the Dean of FK UII in the Workshop on the Participation of UII Faculty of Medicine Alumni with the theme "Synergy of alumni alumni for Endless Service Towards Ridha Allah", which was held on Saturday, 8 Sha'ban 1440 H/13 April 2019 at the 1st floor auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia, Jl. Kaliurang Km.14,5 Sleman Yogyakarta which was attended by FK UII alumni.

According to the doctor, Linda said that the initiation of alumni participation development through the 2019 FK UII alumni participation workshop was the first step in knitting brotherhood and re-embracing UII FK alumni in relation to improving the quality of education (in the context of study program accreditation) and the development of various productive extracurricular activities in FK UII, alumni can act as a catalyst by providing critical and constructive input.

"Alumni, as the main product of the UII FK education factory, are also expected to be able to develop networks and build institutional imagery outside. Network development by alumni is a strategic potential to open various opportunities and increase the competitiveness of an educational alma mater because the benefits will have a direct impact on students and fellow alumni. The creation of business opportunities, work and internships, scholarship opportunities, as well as the circulation of various kinds of important information about the world of education and work are some real examples that alumni can contribute through their networks," explained doctor Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK

Meanwhile, as chairman of the Workshop Committee, dr. Yaltafit Abroor Jeem, M.Sc said that through organizing alumni professionally, various kinds of opportunities and opportunities would be well communicated. This became the momentum for the workshop participants to restructure the FK UII alumni association organization and clarify the vision and strategic plans of the IKA FK UII organization.

"Seeing the strategic and extraordinary potential that can be explored from the existence of alumni, it is time for the FK UII academic community to start embracing the alumni again to prepare students with careful preparation to become alumni who have dedication and high enthusiasm for raising their alma mater," said said the Chairperson of the Committee who is also an alumni of class 2008, Dr. Yaltafit Abroor Jeem, M.Sc. Wibowo
