FK UII Holds KTA Seminar

Kaliurang (11/9) – In an effort to socialize about Violence Against Children (KTA) for the younger generation, especially children in the world of education, the UII Faculty of Medicine is holding a Seminar on Violence Against Children (KTA) which is free and prepared for the public.

This was conveyed by Dr. Tien Budi F, M.Sc., Sp.A as chairman of the committee during the seminar on Saturday, 09 September 2023 at the Prof. Public Lecture Building. Dr. Sardjito, MPH, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Integrated Campus Jl. Kaliurang Km.14,5 Ngemplak, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, which was attended by 180 high school/vocational school students throughout DIY.

According to Dr. Tien said that the KTA seminar is a community service program from the Department of Child Health Sciences (IKA) FK UII, which has been implemented for the past 5 years. "This activity is a matter of concern and is motivated by concern that incidents of violence against children are increasingly common in society, both at home and even at school, and in many cases of these incidents, the perpetrator is often someone close to the child (victim)," he said. explained Dr. Tien.

The Head of IKA FK UII further added that this activity aims to increase knowledge about the types of KTA and teach us how we should respond and control it so that KTA does not occur too much.

Meanwhile Dr. Yanasta Yudo Pratama, MKM, M.Biomed as the committee also explained that this seminar activity was not only a national seminar with the theme Violence Against Children, but FK UII also held an educational poster competition with the theme Violence Against Children. "The educational poster competition was attended by 21 teams from various high schools in Indonesia. Of the 21 teams, the jury selected the 3 best winners from the jury's assessment," explained Dr. Judo.

The KTA seminar activity organized by FK UII presented speakers working in the field, including Dr. M. Bherbudi Wicaksono, Sp.A (Lecturer at FK UII) who discussed the topic "The Importance of Knowledge about Violence Against Children for High School Students", then topic 2 discussed "Steps to Take if Violence Against Children Occurs" taught by the DIY Education and Youth Service, and topic 3 was presented by Mira Aliza Rachmawati, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist (FPSB UII Lecturer) with the theme "Efforts to Prevent Violence Against Children at School Level", while guiding the event was moderated by Dr. Handayani Dwi Utami, M.Sc., Sp.FM (Lecturer at FK UII).
