Work to support spiritual or mental health

Health is a condition in living things where organs function harmoniously or as they should, as humans we are responsible for our own health, especially those of our family members and those around us in general. Spiritual health or mental health is harmony between the functions of the soul to deal with problems that occur in our daily lives. Not only that, we are also obliged to maintain our social health in society and at work.

Islam is very concerned about the advice to maintain human health, this can be seen in the word of Allah Surah Al-Baqarah Verse 184:

Meaning: (ie) within a certain number of days. So whoever among you is sick or on a journey (then he breaks his fast), then (it is obligatory for him to fast) as many days as he has missed on other days. And it is obligatory for those who are hard to do it (if they are not fasting) to pay fidyah, (namely): to feed a poor person. Whoever willingly does good, then that is better for him. And fasting is better for you if you know.

The Covid 19 pandemic has been going on for about 2 years which has had an impact on economic, educational aspects that have affected spiritual health, Unicef stated that the pandemic in Indonesia had an impact on 80 million children and adolescents with regard to education, nutritional health, mental health and poverty services which required families to survive financially so that existing inequality would not worsen.

Social health affects feelings of calm, security and peace which lead to happiness. People who have material sufficiency can take time to rest and even vacation at the desired time so that feelings of happiness can be pursued.

Islam views work for humans as nature as well as human identity, almost every day we see people working, whether it's office work, trading, online drivers and so on, in work activities there is certainly something to be expected, in the Islamic view work is a genuine effort by directing all existing abilities to reveal one's identity as a khoiru ummah (the best people) as a form of gratitude for the blessings of Allah SWT. Work can also bring happiness when we can create good relationships with superiors, subordinates or colleagues and love the work that has become our respective responsibilities.
