Thanks to Doctor Syaefudin's Guidance and Guidance from Doctor Luthi, SMART FK UII Goes To JAPAN

Kaliurang (UII News-09/08) – Scientific Medical Activities of Research and Technology (SMART) FK UII which is fostered by the Deputy Dean of the UII Faculty of Medicine, dr. Syaefudin Ali Akhmad, M.Sc is again taking part in the scientific field to represent UII at an international conference in Japan.

Two Student Members of SMART FK UII, namely Faisal Ridho Sakti and Hifzhan Maulana Ghifari departed bringing the names of UII and Indonesia in the event The 2nd Symponium on Healthcare Without Borders (HWB) in Hiroshima, Japan on 6-9 August 2015/21-24 Shawwal 1436 H. This event was attended by various health experts from Japan, England, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Korea, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Faisal explained that the HBW Symposium was held in conjunction with other conference events that also discussed health themes, namely: The Asian Symposium on Health Informatics and Nursing and The Asian Conference on Peace, Humanitarian Aid and Service.

“As part of Asia, Japan is also very concerned about health issues. These events are organized so that Asian and international citizens are more intrigued and advance the existing health care system," said Faisal.

Faisal and Hifzhan's paper with supervisors from the Department of Public Health, dr. P Luthfi Ghazali, M. Kes, with the title "Satisfaction of Childbirth Patient in Primary Healthcare in Indonesia” presented in the form of a poster.

In the event, the two FK UII students explained that the results obtained by all respondents stated that they were quite satisfied with delivery services in Indonesia. However, socialization regarding the National Health Insurance (JKN) program needs to be socialized by the government to the public. The obstacles are that there are still many people who do not understand the flow of using the existing JKN and the difficulty in accessing health workers to assist with deliveries, especially in remote areas.

While in Japan, Faisal and Hifzhan received guidance to live in the land of cherry blossoms by a UII Environmental Engineering lecturer, Awaluddin Nurmiyantio, ST, M.Eng., who was continuing his PhD at Hiroshima University. There are many experiences that can be taken when 3 days in Japan, especially the lifestyle of Japanese people.

"Everything that is very simple, such as the timely arrival of buses, garbage disposal, and traffic in Japan is very concerned, especially the health system and education system in Japan, must be very advanced," said Hifzhan while in Japan. Wibowo/Tri
