FK UII Provides Free Health Services for Dhuafa

Last Wednesday, March 23 2011, several doctors who are also lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia (FK UII) seemed busy examining patients, the number of which reached up to 110 people. With the help of several FK UII students, the doctors patiently and kindly provided free medical services to all patients until the queue was over. That was the atmosphere recorded in the social service (baksos) free health services in the framework of the inauguration of the inaugural building for the Dhuafa Healthy Home in collaboration with the UII Waqf Board, BAZNAS Republic of Indonesia, and Metro TV located on Jalan Imogiri Barat, Bantul.

"This activity is a continuation of a similar social service which was previously held on November 20 2010" said dr. Gesit Purnama, one of the doctors on duty at the event. Apart from dr. Gesit, there are also 3 other doctors who also provide health services, namely: dr. Binta Setya Febriana, dr. Fanny Anissa Widiarty, and dr. Arie Nugroho.

according to dr. Arie, the community's enthusiasm for this event was very good. This can be seen from the number of patients who queue to get health services. “They consist of various age groups, ranging from children, adults, to the elderly. Cases that are often found include ISPA, hypertension, and dyspepsia. he explained.

Apart from the good reception from the community, dr. Arie also saluted the enthusiasm of FK UII students who helped carry out this social service. "For FK UII students, an event like this has many benefits. Apart from helping poor patients, they can also learn to apply the medical knowledge they have learned as well as gain experience from an early age as future doctors.” he concluded.
