Lecturer at IKM FK UII Oral Abstract at APACPH, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur (UII News) -Â APACPH stands for Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health. To be able to take part in the conference in this activity all participants must submit their abstracts which are divided into 11 symposiums that focus on "Evolution of Public Health in the Asia-Pacific region".

This was conveyed by dr. Pariawan Luthfi Ghazali, M.Kes participating in The 46th APACPH Conference at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur from 17-19 October 2014 organized by the University of Malaya as the host.

According to the news source quoted from http://umconference.um.edu.my/apacph2014=, the oral abstract presented by doctor Luthfi was entitled  â € œDETERMINANTS OF ELDERLY SUICIDE INCIDENT IN GUNUNGKIDUL DISTRICT, YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA YEAR 2011 – 2012â€Â by Pariawan Lutfi Ghazali, Ilma Putri Dewanti, Ida Rochmawati, Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of Indonesia, Indonesia.

"There is a statistically significant relationship between age, occupation and type of disease with the incidence of suicide in elderly people in Gunungkidul. Thus it can be used as a basis for a suicide prevention program that is carried out specifically for the elderly so that people can be controlled, cared for, not suicidal and can improve their quality of life, "said doctor Luthfi in his abstract conclusion.

Why is FK UII in APACPH?, Doctor Luthfi explained that APACPH is an international non-profit organization registered in Honolulu, United States of America as a "501©(3) corporation", which has members from large universities and is influential in the field of Public Health in the region Asia-Pacific and aims to improve public health professional education.

The doctor from IKM FK UII further explained about APACPH, this organization was established in 1984 and has more than 81 member institutions in 23 countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region with regional offices in Bangkok, Beijing, Brisbane, Hawaii, Malaysia and Tokyo. .
