Hubungan antara Status Gizi dengan Kejadian Diare Balita di Wilayah Kerja Puseksmas Petanahan Kabupaten Kebumen
Abstract: Diarrhea disease is one of the factors that influence nutritional status. Misconstrued the one hand, diarrhea may be triggering the occurrence of malnutrition, while in others the emergence of malnutrition can cause diarrhea. Diarrhea disease remains a major health problem in Indonesia because it is still poor basic sanitary conditions, physical environment and low public behavior for clean and healthy living. In Indonesia, diarrhea is the leading cause of child mortality second only Bronchi Infections. In Indonesia, every year there were 100,000 children died of diarrhea. To determine the relationship between nutrition status and diarrhea incidence in children under five Puskesmas Petahanan Kebumen. Research conducted with non-experimental observational case control methode with retrospective approach in infants aged 12-59 months with the number of children under five at 68 months from January to May 2010. In this Study, the subjects were divided into two groups of cases (children under five with diarrhea) and control groups (nondiarrheal infants and children). Control group subjects were taken by simple random sampling, whereas the case group with purposive sampling. The data were collected using medical records and registers posyandu. Data management using computer program SPSS 15 for Windows (Statistical Package for the Social Science). The result based on age weight (BB/U) showed good nutritional status of 58.8% and 41.2% for groups of cases of malnutrition. For the control group showed 94.1% with good nutrition status and 5.9% underweight. Analysis using Chi-Square test ang Odds Ratio. In Chi-Square Test shows that there are differences of nutritional status of children 12-59 months old infant with diarrhea and no diarrhea (p=0.001 or p<0.05). Odd Ratio analysis test showed that undernourished infants and children who will experience diarrhea incidence 9.8 times greater than the good nutrition of children under five (OR=9.800, CI=2.001 to 48.001). Conclusions from this study indicate that less nutritional status affects 9.8 times diarrhea than children of the nutritional status of children both in the area of Puskesmas Petahanan Kebumen.
