Sleep is an important part of the human life cycle, besides functioning to rest various organs of the body that are continuously used, sleep has benefits for growth and maintenance of heart health, sleep disorders and insufficient sleep often causes a person to lose his productivity and often complains of several disturbances in his body , for example high blood pressure, lethargy, and not focused. Therefore the quality of a person's sleep has a very important impact on everyday life.

The quality of a person's sleep is not only assessed from the duration of sleep itself, many things can influence the quality of sleep, according to Cicik Sulistiyani in her research which discusses several factors related to sleep quality in students, environmental conditions, lighting, activity and lifestyle. The level of light around the bed can affect the quality of sleep by affecting the amount of the hormone melatonin to be secreted by the pineal gland, the brighter the lighting the sensory function of the pineal gland will be disrupted and suppress the amount of the hormone melatonin to be secreted, thus reducing the fullness level of a person's sleep. In addition to lighting, sleeping position affects a person's comfort and is a benefit for the body itself.

Islam teaches how to sleep in a good position and has medically proven benefits, the prophet Muhammad SAW. Teaches us to sleep in a position facing to the right, as in the hadith narrated by bukhari and Muslims "The Prophet Muhammad SAW said: Lie on your right rib." (HR Bukhari & Muslim). As science develops, there are studies that prove the benefits of sleeping positions taught by the Prophet, according to Cheng-Deng Kuo and Gau-Yang Chen in their research which discusses comparisons between 3 sleeping positions in modulating sympathetic nerve signals in patients with coronary artery disease mentions that sleeping on the right side makes sympathetic nerve modulation better and is more recommended for patients with coronary artery disease, besides that according to research conducted by Dinarwulan Puspita states that sleeping on the right side can improve sleep quality in patients with congestive heart failure.

From the results of the explanation above, it can be concluded that sleep is an important thing for the human body which has many benefits, and one way to improve sleep quality is to pay attention to the sleeping position itself as taught by the prophet Muhammad SAW. which is medically proven to be beneficial.
