CALCIUM REPORTAGE 2020: “A Little Change, Many Lives Saved”

Medicine – On Sunday, November 22 2020, TBMM HUMERUS FK UII again held a Community Service activity in the form of CALCIUM Social Service "Medical Social Activity for Humanity" 2020 with a series of events namely health webinars, online health consultations, and distribution of free basic necessities to residents Girikerto Village. For health webinars, the event target also includes the general public consisting of various professions and institutions. This activity that has been held is a form of TBMM Humerus FK UII's dedication to the community which is still being carried out even in a pandemic situation and limitations so that the benefits of the event are expected to be felt by the whole community. The enthusiasm of the villagers and the community was also very great for this event.

The Health Webinar with the theme "Unpacking the Relationship between Comorbid/Comorbid Diseases and COVID-19" was carried out online via Zoom Meeting and streaming Youtube TBMM HUMERUS FK UII and also offline which was held at the Girikerto Village Hall and was attended by 40 Girikerto Village residents who held offline while still implementing health protocols. Apart from that, this webinar was also attended by the general public from various levels of education and professions and this activity was also attended by doctors who were interested in this theme. The event was held from 08.00-10.30 WIB. This material was delivered by the Deputy Dean of the UII Faculty of Medicine, dr. Erlina Marfianti, M.Sc. Sp.PD who is an expert in this field and received great enthusiasm from the audience who attended because the material was very useful and relevant to the current conditions so that it became a valuable provision and lesson to apply this knowledge. The webinar ended with the symbolic handover of logistics in the form of medical equipment by the committee to village representatives. Participants also received free groceries which were distributed after the webinar was over.

 

Apart from that, still in the 2020 Calcium Social Service series, a social project was also carried out by the XVI batch of TBMM HUMERUS FK UII apprentices. They conducted counseling with the same theme, namely comorbid diseases and their relation to Covid-19. Counseling and education was carried out for local residents in their respective cities of origin with the aid of posters and educational videos of their own creation. This is done with the hope that even in a pandemic era like this it can still be useful for the surroundings and can practice good communication through counseling.

Then, from noon to evening, an online health consultation agenda is based Telemedicine carried out online via WhatsApp video calls. The participants for this consultation were residents of Girikerto Village who had collected data a few days earlier and collected 60 participants for the online consultation. Patients consult with competent doctors, such as dr. Yaltafit Abror Jeem, M.Sc, dr. Gloscindy Arroca, and dr. Faisal Ridho Sakti. This online consultation activity also received enthusiasm and good feedback from the participants. On the previous day, assisted by village health cadres, blood pressure was checked to support the examination. Complaints consulted generally included a history of hypertension, gout, abdominal pain, and child development consultations. The Calcium 2020 committee also facilitates free medicine according to a doctor's prescription which is delivered directly to locations in the village.
