UII Chancellor: UII Doctor Carries out the missions of rahmatan lil alamin

Kaliurang (UII News) - Currently, Indonesia is welcoming the era of strengthening primary health services as stipulated in the National Health Insurance (JKN) scheme organized by the BPJS (Social Security Administering Body). In this era, the role of doctors who provide primary health care in our society or community will become increasingly important. Because as is known, the health issue that is currently rolling out and getting attention is how to distribute health services that can be reached by all levels of Indonesian society in all corners of the country.

This was conveyed by the Chancellor of UII, Dr. Ir. Harsoyo, M.Sc in his written remarks on the XXVIII Doctor's Oath alumni book, for the oath ceremony on Wednesday, 15 April 2015 / 25 Jumadil Akhir 1436 H which was attended by 28 new doctors who graduated from FK UII.

According to the Chancellor of UII, one of the steps that is considered effective in responding to this challenge is of course to increase the role of doctors who provide primary health services. Especially if we refer to the fact that out of 1.000 population in Indonesian society, 750 adult population report having experienced pain. Meanwhile, only 250 have adequate health services[1].

"In line with this, we see the role of UII doctors who have just been sworn in on this occasion to be eagerly awaited in our society. The opportunity to be involved in the increasingly open profession of primary care physicians should be welcomed positively by doctors so that they can bring maximum benefit," he said.

Furthermore, Pak Harsoyo said that the existence of doctors does not only provide health services, but also educates the public about a healthy lifestyle so that promotive and preventive aspects of health are also fulfilled. Based on the spirit of sincerity and dedication to become a human being with a mission Rahmatan Lil Alamin, we are sure that UII doctors will be able to give their best contribution to this nation and country.
