Rafik Prabowo, student of Medical Education, Faculty of Medicine UII class of 2015, became a mawapres (Student with Achievement) in 2018.

According to him it was not his goal at that time. He said this is his destiny from Allah SWT.

"God allowed me to be able to meet great people from all over Indonesia," he said.

Furthermore, starting from his interest in the world of science and research in his high school, Rafik began to discover what could become a hobby for him as well as a profession. Since I entered FK UII, he has been determined to continue and will continue to develop this skill.

"I joined the faculty's scientific institution, SMART (Scientific Medical Activities of Research and Technology) FK UII. I got a lot of motivation, passion and extraordinary experience from SMART FK UII, so that made me want to continue working,” he said.

"I also joined a UII-level scientific institution, namely the UII Student Laboratory (UII LABMA). At LABMA UII, I got even more experience because I could meet UII friends from different majors to be able to share and share knowledge in the scientific world. At LABMA UII we have the same goals that make me more integrated to do research,” he added.

Alhamdulillah, as time went on with my joining the two organizations Allah allowed me to win several competitions in the field of scientific writing both at the national and international levels.

The student who was born in Pasir Jaya, July 10 1997 explained that at the end of 2017, he received information from one of his friends at LABMA, then Rafiq was recommended by his best friend to take part in the UII level pilmapres selection.

"Bismillah, with a heart that at that time I wasn't too sure I tried to apply to the faculty and I represented FK UII at the university level, then I took part in the selection at the UII level," he said.

At the time of the announcement, it turned out that Allah gave him the mawapres mandate, so that he became UII's main Achievement Student in 2018. Then, he was given guidance facilities by UII student affairs to make various preparations for the PILMAPRES selection at KOPERTIS V level.

"The Pilmapres selection for private universities is much longer, complicated and draining. Why? Because after becoming Mawapres Univ, we have to do another selection at the Kopertis level. From Kopertis will be selected again according to the number of each Kopertis to represent the Kopertis selection at the national level. Yes a kind of ticket that we have to get as a private univ. Meanwhile, if it is a state university, after becoming Mawapres, the university will directly get a ticket for the national selection. So getting excited? “, Rafiq explained.

Then after becoming a university mawapres, he took part in the selection at the Kopertis level. He was guided by one of the communication science lecturers to practice good presentation styles, methods and materials. Alhamdulillah, Rafiq was able to receive the mandate again, he became the Main Achievement Student of KOPERTIS V Yogyakarta. Kopertis V mawapres selection was attended by all PTS in Yogyakarta. “I prepared myself to take part in the national level selection. Amidst the hustle and bustle of medical student lectures, I have to manage my time wisely. To be honest, the journey to get to the national level pilmapres in my opinion is a long journey that is not only oriented towards final grades. But a journey that really taught me to be much more mature, more understanding, better able to divide time and know which are the main priorities that must be completed, "he said.

I also went through preparation for presentations, making profile and daily videos, as well as guidance for public speaking to prepare myself for the National PILMAPRES. Alhamdulillah, at the national level, Allah has entrusted Rafiq Prabowo as a finalist.

Even though he has not been able to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, being a finalist according to him is an honor in itself.

“I can stand among the 17 extraordinary finalists in Indonesia. In my opinion, each of them is a champion, yes, a champion in their respective fields. Because the 17 finalists of the 2018 Mawapres who have been selected from more than 200 participants throughout Indonesia, have extraordinary achievements and achievements in their respective fields, such as some excelling in the fields of athletes and sports, in the arts, accounting and others. . Being able to stand carrying the name of UII among the great PTNs in this country is an honor for me. What's more, after all this time UII has never made it to the national level and this year UII and 3 other PTS have become representatives of PTS throughout Indonesia to join the 2018 Pilmapres," said Rafik.
