Recent Developments in Infection Prevention and Control Procedures

How safe is the health service you provide? Isn't it regrettable when the latest facts show that currently nosocomial infections in hospitals reach 9% or more than 1,4 million inpatients worldwide. Health-care Associated Infection is a serious challenge. It causes death, either directly or indirectly. If it doesn't cause death, it makes the patient stay longer and more expensive.

As health workers, we face the risk of infection every day because of contact with patients and infectious materials. Increasing specific knowledge and skills regarding prevention of infection transmission is very important. Its relation to work is also quite high because it covers every aspect of patient care. Moreover, infection prevention efforts are the first stage of quality service delivery.

Whether you are a leader providing facilities and support, or a health worker as an implementer, all are involved in efforts to prevent this infection. Successful strategies include increasing the capacity of officers in Universal Precautions. Universal Precautions are a new way to minimize exposure to blood and body fluids in all patients. In this way, the transmission of microorganisms can be prevented to a minimum.

Therefore, we want to help you—health workers, by holding seminars on infection prevention and control procedures related to health services in order to create a safer health care business, both for patients and staff.

This seminar is specifically intended for health workers (doctors, dentists, midwives and nurses) from nursing clinics or maternity clinics and health centers (especially inpatient health centers).

The aim of holding this seminar is to equip health workers, especially doctors, dentists, midwives and nurses, with sufficient knowledge to prevent and control infection as an effort to realize safer health care efforts for both patients and staff.
