Kaliurang (UII News) – Malaysia WHA simulation 2017 is a simulation of the first World health organization meeting in Southeast Asia which was held at the International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday – Sunday, 3-5 Rajab 1438 H / 31 March- 02 April 2017.

This was conveyed by Fiqki Rahmawati Fauziah, class 2015 student of FK UII, when participating in this event, with the topic "Health: as basic human rights", which was attended by 100 students from various countries discussing, debating and negotiating in order to produce a draft resolution (text resolution). In the Malaysia WHA simulation, all participants played their respective roles, and voiced opinions according to their roles.

According to Fiqki Rahmawati Fauziah class of 2015 FK UII, she got the role as the representative of the Syrian state in the east-mediterranean region, which discussed the sub-topic of psychological trauma of the Arab world where in that region there was an increase in cases of psychological trauma caused by war, conflict, political instability and prolonged hunger are not balanced with the provision of health facilities to deal with the trauma and are constrained by various factors such as lack of funds, lack of health workers, isolated areas and Arab culture which considers mental illness as a taboo.

"As a representative from a country that urgently needs psychological trauma treatment, I propose various ideas to solve problems on this topic, and bring up the resolution text which contains the idea in the form of a WHO work program, abbreviated as ACT, which consists of 1. Advance Health Care Facilities, 2. Coordination with humanitarian personnel, and 3. Tackle PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) Problems. Where the text of the resolution is accompanied by many mechanisms and has gone through various amendments. At the last regional meeting, the resolution text was finally voted on by the majority of the countries present," said Fiqki.

Fiqki added that from Indonesia alone, he sent around 20 delegates, from UII he only sent one delegate from the Faculty of Medicine class of 2015, namely Fiqki Rahmawati Fauziah. On previous occasions, he has also received an award in the form of the best diplomacy award at the London International Model United Nation event in 2016 and the best press delegate in the 2017 Taiwan WHO simulation. This time he also received an award in the form of Best Speaker. In the assessment of the appointment of the best speaker award, it can be seen from the activeness of the role in leading discussions, diplomacy skills and mastery of material on the topic.

"I have an interest in the humanitarian field, especially concerning human rights for victims of wars like what happened in Syria, I really deepen my role in bringing up solutions in discussions, even during the competition I was willing to only sleep for 2 hours to complete the resolution text," said he said while looking back. At the event the Best Speaker Award is the best award or first winner of 5 award categories.

When asked the secret of winning the competition he replied, “Even though during the race the day before the block exam, I still focus on preparing everything completely as long as it doesn't interfere with the academic process, one of the things I emphasize when I feel tired is Go big or go home. , for totality so that I am excited again”, he said, smiling.
