KBK FK UII Blue Print Assessment Evaluation Workshop

The series of activities for the Competency Grant Program to Improve the Quality of Medical Education (PHKPKPD) began to be implemented by FK UII. The first program implemented was the Curriculum Blueprint Evaluation Workshop which was held on 21-22 February 2011. Participants in this workshop were the coordinators of all blocks at the undergraduate medical education stage and representatives from each department at the clinical education stage. This activity was opened directly by the Chairperson of the PHKPKPD PIU Dr. Umatul Khoiriyah M.Med.Ed. In his remarks it was stated that this workshop opened a series of activities in the context of implementing PHK-PKPD for the 2011 implementation year. The achievement of this workshop was the preparation of a draft blue print assessment for even semester blocks and a draft blue print assessment for all departments at the clinical education stage.

As the speaker on the first day of this workshop, dr. Najwa Zamalek Dalimoenthe, SP.PK(K) who is the head of the assessment unit at FK UNPAD. the first material dr. Najwa delivered a review regarding the assessment. He emphasized that although some say that "assessment driven learning" does not mean that the learning process is not only limited to achieving good grades. We must not forget that the main purpose of assessment activities in medical education is to improve health and health services in the population. Through this assessment activity it can be determined whether a student has achieved a certain competency that has been defined in the curriculum.

The second material is sharing the implementation of the blue print assessment at FK UNPAD. From the implementation of the blue print assessment at FK UNPAD the value that we can draw is to compile a good blue print that needs to be from various blocks, departments or sections to sit together to make a complete map of various assessment activities for a complete medical education process. So that when students enter semester 1 to semester 7, since the beginning the Faculty of Medicine has been able to determine how many biochemistry questions students will get on the exam and in which blocks. This session was more interactive because the participants were very interested in discussing various problems in preparing the blue print at FK UII. Apart from the blue print assessment, through the discussion in this second session, FK UII lecturers also got an overview of the implementation of the assessment at FK UNPAD.

SOCA or Student Oral Case Analysis is a form of assessment that is applied in FK UNPAD as a block value component. The SOCA exam is used to hone and assess students' clinical reasoning abilities. In contrast to FK UII, the block score components include written test scores, medical skills test scores and tutorial scores, the block score components at FK UNPAD are written test scores, SOCA scores and comprehensive exam scores.

It is hoped that from the material on the first day of the blueprint assessment workshop, positive values can be drawn from what has been implemented at FK UNPAD as one of the leading medical faculty in terms of its assessment system. However, this does not mean that FK UII will have to implement various assessments that have been carried out at FK UNPAD. There are practicability and acceptability components that should not be forgotten in implementing various assessment activities. It is necessary to carry out an in-depth evaluation of a form of assessment activity before it is implemented.

The second day of the workshop was continued with the presentation of the draft blue print assessment that had been made, both by the block team and by the clinical department. There were representatives of the block and clinical department who presented the draft blueprint that had been made and a joint evaluation of the sample draft blueprint had been carried out. The results of this presentation obtained several agreements regarding the draft blue print assessment which is used as a reference for the preparation of the next blue print assessment draft.
