Kaliurang (19/10)- Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia (FK UII) again carried out the Doctor's Inauguration and Oath procession Period LVIII (58), Doctor Profession Study Program on Wednesday, 19 October 2022, at the Auditorium of FK UII, UII Integrated Campus, which was attended by the Management of the UII Waqf Board Foundation, Deputy Chancellor for Field UII Academic and Research Development, DIY Health Office, DIY Regional Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), FK UII Student Parent/Guardian Gathering Forum (FOSMA), and parents of new doctors.

According to the report submitted by dr. Ana Fauziyati, M.Sc, Sp.PD as Chair of the FK UII Doctor Profession Study Program, 4 new doctors were appointed consisting of 3 men and 1 woman, so that since its establishment (2001), FK UII has graduated 2.103 doctor. The four new doctors come from different regions, namely Maluku, South Kalimantan, South Sumatra and East Java.

In his remarks, the Dean of FK UII, Dr. dr. Isnatin Miladiyah, M.Kes, congratulated the new doctor and the whole family on their success in passing the Doctor Profession Program Student Competency Test (UKMPPD). UKMPPD is a very hard struggle, so to be able to take the doctor's oath today, we need to be grateful by doing good things consistently. "We give appreciation for the struggles and achievements of the younger siblings, we follow up by taking the oath and we will not postpone it to the next period because there are still many processes that must be passed after taking the oath as a doctor," said Dr. Isnatin.

Dr. Isnatin explained that based on data from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in 2021 the number of doctors in Indonesia is around 173.000, with the largest composition being general practitioners, around 103.000 people. However, of these numbers, not all doctors have a valid Registration Certificate (STR). After graduating, you have an STR, but when it expires, you don't renew the STR again. Of the number of doctors who have STR, not all apply for a Practice License (SIP). This is a problem in itself, there are many doctors whose STR has expired and doctors who do not have SIP, so that these doctors are not optimal in providing services to the community.
"I'm sure these new FK UII doctors will provide many great benefits to the community, please return to their respective regions to contribute as doctors," concluded Dr. Isnatin ended his speech.
