FK UII Holds Junior Doctor's Appointment, Komkordik: AI Technology Cannot Replace Doctor's Role

Before taking clinical education in the medical education study program, students need to recite the Young Doctor's Promise. The Medical Profession Study Program of FK UII held the event which was attended by 29 participants on Thursday, April 6, 2023, coinciding with the 15th of Ramadan 1444H at the Prof. Public Lecture Building. Dr. Sardjito 1st floor. In the event, each young doctor's appointment participant was also required to read out the young doctor's appointment which contained a promise to always prioritize the patient's interests, maintain the confidentiality of patient information and continue to sign the junior doctor's appointment document.

Also present was the chairman of the Komkordik, dr. Tjahjo Winantyo, Sp.B., MMKes. In his remarks dr. Tjahjo stated that in today's technological era doctors cannot be replaced. "Although now there is AI technology such as ChatGPT that can help provide information and advice, it still cannot replace the role of doctors who have the ability to interact with patients directly," said dr. Tjahjo. Therefore, young doctors must be prepared to study diligently and develop their abilities and skills so that they can provide the best health services for the community.

On this occasion, the Dean of FK UII, Dr. dr. Isnatin Miladiyah, M.Kes invited the Koas to be independent and be able to work together with friends in taking Clinical Education at the Hospital. In addition, Dr. Isnatin advised to always pray before starting the learning process. "My message is that young doctors always pray before carrying out their learning activities both in theory and during practice at the hospital so that the knowledge gained is easy to remember," said Dr. Isnatin.

UII Deputy Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jaka Nugraha, S.Sc., M.Si also gave a speech and expressed his pride for holding the Young Doctor's Appointment. He mentioned that as a doctor, one must have empathy and a great sense of responsibility towards the patients entrusted to him.

“Being a doctor is not just a profession, but also a calling. A doctor must have empathy, be sincere in providing services, and be able to solve problems faced by patients. Therefore, I hope that the young doctors who will undergo coas at this hospital can gain valuable experience and be able to improve their quality to become qualified doctors," said the Vice Chancellor.

Finally, the event was closed with a prayer led by Dr. Syaefudin Ali Akhmad, M.Sc. In this ceremonial event, all participants were required to make a young doctor's oath as a symbol of their commitment to undergoing the clinical education process. The promise contains a determination to deepen medical knowledge, pay attention to ethics and morality in medical practice, and provide the best service for patients. (Three)
