Factors Influencing the Choice of Injectable Contraception in Ngagglik Sleman District, Yogyakarta

Background: The population growth in the world is very rapid with a high growth rate of around 17,1 per thousand population. If efforts are not made to regulate this high population growth rate, problems will arise in all aspects of life, such as in the socio-economic. The emergence of the concept of reproductive health is a way out in solving problems in the population sector. Contraceptive use among married couples in Indonesia increased in 2002-2003. The most increased use of contraceptives is injection / injection. This makes researchers want to know what is the motivation for choosing injection contraception so that it can be seen that this increase is in accordance with the expectations of the Family Planning program.

Research purposes: To find out the factors that influence family planning acceptors to prefer injecting contraception in Ngaglik sub-district, Yogyakarta.

Research methods: This type of research is non-experimental research with a time-latitude approach. The research was conducted in the work area of ​​Ngaglik sub-district. How to analyze data with chi-square test. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. To measure attitude items using a Likert scale. To find the most dominant variable, a multivariate analysis with logistic regression was performed

Results: There is a significant relationship between injection contraception users and age, sources of information, attitudes with a P-value below 5%.

Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between injection contraception users and age, sources of information, attitudes. While the variables of education level, employment status, number of children, facility distance, family income, husband's support, knowledge did not have a significant difference. Age under 35 years is twice as likely to choose injectable contraception.
