UII Medicine IKA Holds Seminar and Deliberation with the Theme "Be Competitive and Medical Preneur Doctor"

Kaliurang (25/2) Medical Alumni Association (IKA). Universitas Islam Indonesia (FK UII) held a national seminar and medical IKA meeting at the KH Kahar Muzakkir UII Auditorium. Nowadays, doctors are not only expected to become qualified medical personnel, but also to become formidable medical entrepreneurs. This requires doctors to study various business aspects needed to develop businesses in the health sector. Facing this challenge, the seminar entitled “Be Competitive and Medical Preneur Doctor” organized by the FK UII Alumni Family Association on 25 February 2023 at the KH Kahar Muzakkir UII Auditorium provided inspiration and knowledge about careers as doctors and medical entrepreneurs to FK UII students and alumni.

Dean of FK UII Dr. dr. In his speech, Isnatin Miladiyah, M.Kes, said that the role of alumni in the community is an illustration of the educational success of an institution, no matter how good the educational program is, the role of alumni does not give a good impression on society, so it will be difficult for the institution to exist properly.

Dr. Isnatin added, "FK UII alumni are expected to maintain and implement knowledge and good morals as an effort to uphold good deeds for our teachers. Apart from that, we also collect alumni to be able to contribute related to scholarships aimed at helping medical students who have difficult economic conditions so that they can continue their studies smoothly.” He said, at the end of his remarks the dean thanked the alumni for the contribution and dedication in advancing the health sector in Indonesia.

Vice Chancellor for Student, Religious and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Drs. Rohidin, SH, M.Ag., in his speech said that alumni are like arrows released from a bow to hit the target. "While still in college, we were directed, trained, and guided to achieve goals, namely society. However, not all arrows reach their destination, so remember your alma mater, teachers who have taught science, ethics, morality and responsibility. Then become adaptive alumni who can build a society that is rahmatan lil 'alamiin in accordance with UII's vision and mission," he said, and then symbolically the event was officially opened.

The seminar was filled with presentations from speakers who are experts in the field of health and medical entrepreneurs by explaining their experiences and providing insights about the opportunities and challenges in developing a business in the health sector. dr. Joko Murdiyanto, Spn, MPH, FISQua Explained the ethics of practicing independent doctors and primary care doctors. Meanwhile, dr. Pandang Tedi Adriyanto, Sp.PD, MSc, FINASIM delivered material related to Updates on Management of Chronic Diseases (Type II DM) at FKTP. Session 2 of the seminar was filled by dr. Ramdhan Nur Hidayat discussed Tips & Tricks for starting a Circumcision Clinic and continued by dr. Ferihana, Dipl. AAAM, Cibtac shared his experience in Tips & Tricks for opening a Beauty Clinic. In between delivering the material, the audience also had the opportunity to present their business ideas and get feedback from the speakers. This event provides an opportunity for alumni to broaden their horizons about careers as doctors and medical entrepreneurs as well as get inspiration and support in developing careers and businesses in the health sector.

The event continued with the IKA Medicine Deliberation session which was attended by all FK UII alumni. The deliberation begins with a discussion of work evaluation during the management period delivered by dr. Kiki Widyastuti, Sp.P., M.Kes., FISR., as chair of the IKA Medicine for the 2018-2023 period. Furthermore, the deliberation was followed by discussing the replacement of alumni management as a form of organizational continuity and as an effort to maintain the quality and existence of alumni. Management change deliberations were also held as a form of the responsibility of alumni members to maintain and advance the Medical IKA. Through this deliberation, dr. Muhammad Ikhwan Nur, Sp.An., class of 2003 was elected chairman, dr. Dita Anggara Kusuma, Sp.OT., class of 2005 as deputy chairman, dr. H. Bima Achmad Bina Nurutama, MPH, class of 2008 as secretary general, and dr. Dina Arisonaningtyas, MPH, class of 2006 as general treasurer of IKA Medicine for the 2023-2029 period. Chosen dr. The Ikhwan as chairman of the IKA Medicine for the upcoming period is certainly a great honor and mandate, as well as a big responsibility in advancing the alumni organization.

In his remarks, dr. The Ikhwan expressed their gratitude for the trust given to them by all alumni members. He also emphasized that as head of the IKA Medicine, he will try his best to carry out his duties with full responsibility and develop the organization in the future.

In addition, dr. The Ikhwan also emphasized the importance of establishing good cooperation and partnerships with FK UII and the world of the health industry in order to provide job opportunities for alumni, as well as improve the quality of education in the medical field. He also hopes that alumni can actively participate in organizational activities and support one another. at the end of his speech, dr. Ichwan Nur again expressed his gratitude and hoped that the IKA Medical alumni organization could continue to grow and provide good benefits for FK UII and the wider community.(ra)
