HISTORY

The Department of Dermatology and Venereology (IKK) FK UII was first established in 2001 at the same time as the establishment of FK UII. This department was first led by dr. Betty Ekawati Sp.KK in 2001. At the time of establishment the Department of Dermatology and Venereology was still focused on tutorial and educational activities in the preparation of curriculum blocks and teaching in expert lectures. Not much research and service has been carried out and is only limited to research for KTI students. The best achievement achieved by IKK FK UII lecturers was getting DIKTI research grants. Initially the IKK staff consisted of 4 people and currently consists of 2 people because two of them moved to work at the Hospital.

PROFILE

The Department of Dermatology and Venereology is one of the departments under the Clinical Department of the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD) of FK UII which aims to support the vision and mission of the Faculty of Medicine, FK UII, namely as an institution that rahmatan lil 'alamin, through chess dharma efforts, namely education, community service, research, and preaching in the health sector Dermatology and Venereology.

At the undergraduate education level, the Department of Dermatology and Venereology organizes Dermatology and Venereology education through the system problem based learning (PBL), both through tutorials and expert lectures, so that it is integrated with other branches of medical sciences. At the professional education stage, the Department of Dermatology and Venereology organizes professional education through practical work at the FK UII Network Hospital. The educational process for the professional stage is carried out for 4 weeks, under the guidance of clinical educator lecturers.

Quality research in the field of Dermatology and Venereology is also continuously developed through the use of developments in medical technology, as well as the development of collaborations with various institutions and various scientific disciplines. Improving the quality of education is always carried out through various training workshops, seminars and presentations in various scientific forums both at home and abroad. Professional health services are also continuously developed in order to carry out the mandate of the people, namely to fulfill the need for quality services in the field of IKK. Continuous Islamic da'wah continues to be carried out related to Dermatology and Venereology, through the integration of developments in medical science with the values ​​of the Qur'an and Al Hadith.
