Jordan (UII News) - Medical School Universitas Islam Indonesia (FK UII) joined the delegation of the Indonesian Islamic Medicine Forum (FOKI) and the Indonesian Islamic Hospital who are members of the All-Indonesian Islamic Health Effort Council (MUKISI) together with the Federation Of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA) to visit the Jordanian Embassy (Embassy) and Palestine and received directly by Drs Andi Rachmianto M.Phil.

This was conveyed by the Dean of FK UII, dr. Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK with dr. Syaefudin Ali Akhmad, M.Sc via WhatsApps (WA) on Friday, 08 September 2018 / 26 Dzulhijah 1439 H.

According to doctor Syaefudin, the meeting discussed the need for the involvement of FOKI and (FIMA) and MUKISI to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Especially with the current position where America's aid to Palestine was stopped in the amount of $ 350 million from the $ 700 million refugee fund managed by the United Nations through UNHCR.

“There are about four million refugees hosted by Jordan and two million more are Palestinian refugees. Of the eight million Jordanians, almost half of them are refugees since 1948. Previously, Palestine was an area covering Jordan, Jerusalem and the west bank and Gaza," said doctor Udin via WA.

Furthermore, doctor Udin said that the ambassador's explanation explained that after the first world war, 50 percent of the area became territory that was separated from Arabs and finally the British and Americans were handed over to Israel with the Zionist movement.

"Not all Jews are Zionists, especially native Arab Jews who still defend the Aarab tribe who live in Palestine," said doctor Udin, copying the ambassador's presentation on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The point is that the ambassador asked to send assistance, it could be teachers and medical staff to become volunteers to Jordan, it could be international KKN or community service to refugees in Jordan. It's just to fill clinics and schools that are short on staff because the budget from the USA is gone.

If that's not possible, then you can send financial assistance or open scholarships for refugee children to study at Islamic universities. Brawijaya University has also started cooperation with Jordan to provide assistance and in the future there will be a joint project to build a vaccine factory in Jordan in collaboration with Biofarma Bandung.

Jordan is a generous country by providing 25 percent of its state budget for refugees, even though Jordan is not as rich as Saudi Arabia, but that is their choice to help their brothers and sisters in Islam.

Doctor Udin explained further that the Dean of FK UII had also reported that the Indonesian Islamic University (UII), this year had accepted one student from Palestine to become a doctor later and was open to other majors and to study Indonesian for foreign speakers, there was BIPA in UII, said doctor Syaefudin Ali Akhmad, M.Sc. Until this news, he was demoted to a position still in Jordan with the Dean of FK UII, dr. Linda Rosita, M.Kes., Sp.PK. Wibowo[:]
