Yogyakarta, FK UII – In order to fulfill the graduation requirements for final year professional students, this time Faculty of Medicine UII held a national symposium on the latest developments in hypertension and diabetes.

One of the reasons for holding this event, namely the concern of the students Faculty of Medicine UII with the increasing number of people suffering from hypertension and diabetes. It turns out that these two diseases are not only caused by age and heredity. But it can also be caused by poor diet and lifestyle.

The event which was held on Sunday 20 Dzulka'idah 1438 H / 13 August 2017 took place at the Alana Hotel Yogyakarta Ballroom, with the theme "Improving the quality of life for people with chronic diseases, thereby creating a better future".

Together with the experts who were the speakers at this event. In addition to aiming to provide knowledge and life motivation for people with chronic diseases. It is hoped that through the general practitioners participating in the symposium this time, those who have acute illnesses will become even more productive and not regret what has happened to them. Because every year people with hypertension and diabetes continue to increase. In fact, based on the World Health Organization (WHO), last year Indonesia was in 7th place with diabetes mellitus with approximately 10 million sufferers. In fact, diabetes sufferers in Indonesia are not only in Indonesia, not only from the elderly, but also from small children to adults.

Because every year the sufferers of hypertension and diabetes are on the rise. Based on the World Health Organization (WHO), last year Indonesia ranked 7 sufferers of diabetes mellitus and the number of sufferers is about 10 million people.
