Discussing Accreditation, Medicine Attends XX AFKSI Conference

Kaliurang (UII News) – Accreditation is an important asset for determining the position of a higher education institution or study program at the level of management competition with higher education institutions and other study programs and is a benchmark for institutions using higher education program products to ensure graduates are worthy because they are produced from the management process which is well controlled.

This was conveyed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia, dr.Linda Rosita, M.Kes., Sp.PK after returning from the XX National Conference of the Association of Indonesian Private Medical Faculties (AFKSI) which was held in Surabaya on Friday-Saturday-16-17 Dzulqo'dah 1440 H/19-20 July 2019, with Deputy Dean of Resources, dr. Erlina Marfianti, M.Sc., Sp.PD, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, Alumni and Religion dr. Nur Aisyah Jamil, M.Sc and Head of Medical Education Study Program, dr. Umatul Khoiriyah, M.Med.Ed., Ph.D

According to doctor Linda, the presence of FK UII followed the XX AFKSI meeting to discuss accreditation. Accreditation is a comprehensive process of evaluating and assessing the commitment of tertiary institutions to the quality and capacity of implementing the Tridarma of higher education, to determine the feasibility of educational programs and units.

"Evaluations and assessments in the context of institutional accreditation are carried out by a team of assessors consisting of experts who understand the nature of tertiary management," said the Dean of FK UII.

Furthermore, the Dean of FK UII explained that in accordance with Permenristekdikti No 32/2016, BAN-PT developed an accreditation instrument that was relevant to the development of the higher education sector in Indonesia and followed global developments in the form of a Study Program Accreditation Instrument (IAPS). BAN-PT developed the 2018 version of the Study Program Accreditation Instrument (IAPS), which is written briefly IAPS 4.0 (IAPS 1.0 in 1996, IAPS 2.0 in 2000, and IAPS 3.0 in 2008).
