Thank God, the participants of the Seminar on Pros and Cons of Immunization Exceeded the Target

Yogyakarta (UII News) – Aimed at providing an overview and discourse to the public about immunization administration, as well as providing a vehicle for discussion for parties who wish to draw conclusions about the pros and cons of immunization in society, FK UII is holding a National Seminar on the Pros and Cons of Immunization.

This was conveyed by the Dean of FK UII, dr. Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK giving her speech at the event, at the Jogjakarta Plaza Hotel, 18 January 2015/ 27 Rabiul Awal 1436 H, pk. 09.00 WIB attended by the Chancellor of UII, Dr. Ir. Harsoyo, M.Sc along with invited guests, and was attended by 400 participants.

According to him, in general, vaccination is considered an effective method to prevent infectious diseases. The active agent of a vaccine may be an intact but inactivated (non-infectious) or attenuated (with reduced infectivity) form of the pathogen, or purified components of a pathogen that have been found to be highly immunogenic (eg, outer coat proteins of viruses).

Meanwhile, as coordinator of publication and registration of participants, dr. Putrya Hawa, M.Biomed admitted that the success of holding this national seminar was evidenced by the response from the public, health practitioners, doctors, midwives and the general public who enthusiastically registered for this event.

                     "Alhamdulillah, participants who registered more than 400 people, this exceeded the committee's target of only 300 participants," said dr. Putty.

                        The participants said they were happy to be able to take part in the seminar on the pros and cons of this immunization, one of them was Ms. the importance of immunization for the growth and development of their children, and also avoid disease.

In the seminar, FK UII presented speakers who were competent in the field of immunization, including dr. Soeroyo Machfudz, MPH, Sp.A (K) with the title of his paper "Complete Immunization to Educate Indonesian Children", the second session was delivered by dr. Piprim B, Yanuarso, Sp.A(K) as General Secretary of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI), Lecturer at FK UI Jakarta with his paper "Vaccination and Islamic Golden History", and speakers from MUI with a paper entitled "Immunization and Vaccination Law" in Islam” was conveyed by the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council which was supervised by Dr.Drs. H. Makhrus Munajad, SH., M.Hum. Wibowo
