Kaliurang (UII News) – Alhamdulillah, until now the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD) Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) has graduated 1.234 doctors spread all over the country or abroad.

This was reported by the Chairperson of the PSPD FK UII Study Program, dr. Erlina Marfianti, M.Sc., Sp.PD, during the inauguration ceremony and doctor's oath for the 35th period which was held in the auditorium of KH. Abdul Kahar Muzakir, Ulil Albab Mosque, Integrated Campus Universitas Islam Indonesia, Jl. Kaliurang Km.14,5 Sleman, on Tuesday, 01 Safar 1438 H / 01 November 2016 which was attended by 89 new doctors, consisting of 28 men and 61 women.

According to doctor Erlina, the national health policy also influences the career path of a doctor. Holding the title of doctor, has an increasingly heavy responsibility in health services in the community. In carrying out this responsibility, graduates should always never stop learning to explore, and keep abreast of advances in medical science and technology which continue to experience improvements and changes.

"So doctors must update their knowledge throughout their lives, as a "long life learner" in dealing with health problems. Handling disease problems that do not comply with the latest standards is malpractice," said his report as the Head of Study Program and his message to new doctors.

In line with the Head of FK UII Study Program, Doctor Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK emphasized that the doctors appointed that day were competent to work in Health Services. However, even that is not enough, what must be done is knowing the future challenges that must be considered.

"The challenge for doctors in the future will be even tougher, so knowledge must be deepened continuously, sharpening the mind, heart and spirit. Muslim doctors are expected to be able to provide benefits to others and help solve the problems of the nation, state and people throughout the archipelago," said the Dean of FK UII.

Meanwhile, UII Chancellor, Dr. Ir Harsoyo, M.Sc submitted data from the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI) which explained that as of May 9 2016, the number of doctors in Indonesia was 110.720, meaning that one doctor serves 2.270 residents.

According to the Chancellor of UII, the above is a condition that is the responsibility of alumni of the UII Faculty of Medicine.

"Therefore, as a form of real contribution, alumni of the UII Faculty of Medicine should always be ready to serve themselves, return to their respective areas, and be willing to be assigned to remote areas," said Dr. Ir. Harsoyo, M.Sc when delivering his speech.

From the data submitted by the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD) FK UII, it was explained that alumni in this period had an average age of 25 years, with a length of study of approximately 6 years compared to the class of 2010.

The Teaching Hospital that was used when taking clinical education was RSUD dr. Soedirman Kebumen, dr. Soediran Mangunsumarso Wonogiri, Caruban Hospital, Semarang Bhayangkara Hospital, Yogyakarta Grhasia Hospital, and Community Health Centers in Magelang Regency.

For the best achievement, dr. Annisa Prima Monika with a Doctor GPA of 3.96, dr. Befri Mahaztra Sudarman with a Doctor GPA of 3,94 and dr. Prily Raleka Pah passedi with a Doctor GPA of 3.93, so the three of them received gifts from the FK UII Parent Gathering Forum (FOSMA) which were handed over directly by the Chair, namely dr. Mafilinda Nuraini, M.Kes.

A gift from the UII Faculty of Medicine was given to doctor Novian Fajri who managed to get the highest score while taking the Student Competency Test for the Medical Education Program (UKMPPD) for the August 2016 period. Wibowo
