Kaliurang (UII News) – Asia Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) is an annual meeting of the Asia Pacific region IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Student Association) which in 2017 was held at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center, Tokyo Japan for 10 days from 23 Dzulhijah – 04 Muharom 1439 H / 14 – 24 September 2017. This was conveyed by Fiqki Rahmawati Fauziah (FK UII 2015), after attending the Asia Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM 2017).

According to Fiqi, this activity consisted of various series of events, namely pre-APRM (14-17 September 2017) in the form of training, divided into three namely New Medical Education Trainer (TMET) Training, New Human Rights and Peace Trainer (TNHRT) Training and Training New Trainers (TNT). Then it was continued with the APRM event (17-21 September 2017) which consisted of IFMSA Standing Committee meetings and other events such as Activities Fair, Theme events, plenary, training sessions, national food and drink, cultural night, and others. After all, there is a post-APRM (21-24 September 2017) in the form of a Japan trip.

“The FK UII delegation representing CIMSA-ISMKI in the pre-APRM series was Aghnia Fikriya Nazihah (FK UII 2015) in TMET, Gea Sonia Amanda (FK UII 2015) and Fiqki Rahmawati Fauziah (FK UII 2015) in TNHRT. Aghnia with a background in LEM FK UII education and professional staff attended training related to Medical Education. Meanwhile, Gea and Fao both received various training on human rights and world peace, and presented the trainer's graduation session in APRM," said Fiqi.

Fiqi further added that in APRM, every national organization in the Asia Pacific is only represented by 16 people, from Indonesia representing CIMSA-ISMKI there are 8 delegates from each organization, after going through rigorous selection, she can become 1 of 8 ISMKI delegates representing Indonesia in this prestigious event.

"I studied the standing committee of human rights and peace (SCORP) sessions and was active in participating in other events along with hundreds of other delegates from various countries in Asia Pacific," said Fiqi.

In APRM activities, Gea Sonia Amanda (FK UII 2015) was able to present a session with the Chinese delegation on the topic 'introduction of human rights' and FAO was able to present a session with the Hong Kong delegation on the topic 'climate change, human rights and health'.
