Celebrating Eid al-Adha 1436 H, FK UII Baksos in Ngandong

Kaliurang (UII News-24/9) – The month of Dzulhijjah is a special month for Muslims, apart from being historic, this month includes the fifth pillar of Islam, namely the Hajj. Hajj is one of worship that teaches equality among people. With it Islam appears as a religion that knows no social status. Everyone wears the same clothes even though they come from different races, ethnicities, positions and social statuses.

This was conveyed by the Dean of FK UII, Dr. Hj. Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK when giving her speech at a social service event to celebrate Eid al-Adha 1436 H on the front yard of Mr. Hadi's house, Ngandong, Girikerto, Turi, Sleman, Yogyakarta on Tuesday-Thursday, 22-24 September 2015 / 09-11 Dzulhijah 1436 H.

According to Doctor Linda, in her tausyiah, she said that this event made a deep impression on us. In Surah Al-Shaffat verses 102-109, it is narrated that Prophet Ibrahim AS had been waiting for the arrival of his baby; Ismail AS, apparently was tested by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala to slaughter his son.

“Prophet Ibrahim had to choose two very difficult choices. "However, because it was based on devotion to Allah, Ibrahim continued to carry out Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala's orders, and in the end, Ismail, who willingly agreed to be slaughtered, was replaced by a slaughtered lamb," he said.

It was further explained that this social service activity was held to commemorate Eid al-Adha 1436 H by the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia. Some of the activities carried out in this social service are the collection, distribution and distribution of sacrificial animals, apart from that there are several additional activities, namely health education, free health checks and treatment, basic food bazaars, clothing bazaars, and competitions for children. This social service activity is in collaboration with the Faculty of Islamic Religious Sciences (FIAI UII), the Medical Assistance Team (TBMM FKUII), the Student Executive Institute (LEM FKUII) and the Center for Medical Activities (CMIA FKUII) to participate in making this event a success and a form of student service to the community, said the Dean of FK UII.
