Kaliurang (UII News) – Hong Kong International Invention Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition (HKIE) is a competition in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. The competition integrates existing innovations with the field of entrepreneurship.

This was conveyed by Rima Nur Rahmawati (FK UII 2013) after winning a gold medal after attending Hong Kong International Invention Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition (HKIE) with his two friends Muhammad Alvin Ramadhan Usman (FK) and Zara Desriana Widia (FK) at City University of Hong Kong, Kowloon, Hong Kong on Thursday – Saturday, 20 -22 Robiul Akhir 1438 H / 19 – 21 January 2017.

According to Rima, along with her two friends, she brought the 2nd team's flag with the invention title PAKEM a Blend of Papaya Seeds and Ocimum sanctum L. as an Aromatherapy and Repellent Candles.

"Participants in this event are general in nature, where all layers and age criteria can take part. There are various fields that can be contested, among others aerospace & aviation, agriculture, audio-visual equipment, biotechnology, chemicals, educational items, electricity, ICT & multimedia, industrial design, office products, special care, child care, and others” said Rima.

Rima further explained that participants in the HKIE 2017 event from Indonesia were collectively coordinated by Indonesian Innovation and Invention Promotion Association (INNOPA). This year, HKIE participants came from 9 countries, namely Indonesia, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, the Philippines, China and Canada. Some of them are also coordinated by similar associations.

"WL, UII team won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, and 2 special awards given by Hong Kong”, said Rima.

Rima added that in general the results achieved by the UII delegation while participating in the event were gold medals for the PAKEM team (team 2), silver medals for the ONE team, Best Invention Award from the Hong Kong innovation association for both teams (PAKEM and ONE), Experience in participating in international competitions, Relations with other participants, Indonesian citizens working in Hong Kong, and the event organizing committee are well established.
