The Effect of Submaximal Physical Activity for 30 Minutes on Current Blood Sugar Levels

THE EFFECT OF SUBMAXIMUM PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FOR 30 MINUTES ON CHANGES IN BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS IN HEALTHY PEOPLE

Background: Physical exercise is often recommended by doctors to their patients with the aim of improving the physical fitness of these patients. Doing physical activity in this case exercise is very beneficial for human life, especially for the health of the body. This is also the basic idea of m society in general. Each person's exercise dose has a certain level of safety that is technical-physiological in nature, one of which is the achievement of a submaximal heart rate intensity, which is between 60-80% of the predicted maximum heart rate based on age. However, the safety level of the sports dose for each person is still not known clearly.

Purpose: To determine the effect of thirty minutes of submaximal physical activity on changes in blood glucose levels while in healthy people,

Research methods : This research is a pure experimental research.

Research subject: The research subjects were 50 healthy volunteers with an age range of 15-35 years based on a physical examination and filling out a physical activity readiness questionnaire based on the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) criteria from the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.

Research result : Based on the research that has been done, it was found that a decrease in blood sugar levels before and after doing submaximal physical activity for 30 minutes with an average result (mean) before was: 95,5800 mg/dl ± 12,73768, while the mean result (mean) after: 86,5800 mg/dl i ± 11,90282. Then after being tested with a paired t test, it was found that there was a significant difference between the average blood sugar before and after doing submaximal physical activity for 30 minutes in healthy people. (p=0,000)

Conclusion: There is a decrease in blood glucose levels before and after doing submaximal physical activity for 30 minutes.
