Yogyakarta, FK UII – Basically, emergency training is one of the health service efforts to be developed to improve efforts to deal with emergency patients both in everyday situations and in disaster situations. Emergencies can happen anytime, to anyone and anywhere. This condition requires the readiness of health workers to anticipate these events.

This activity was held on 26-27 Dzulhijah 1438 H / 18-19 September 2017 at the Auditorium Faculty of Medicine UII 1st floor, Clinic Department Meeting Room and old OSCE room 4th floor. This event carries the theme "Basic Life Support". In accordance with the theme that was carried out, this activity delivered various materials that catered to the abilities of the participants who were educational employees Faculty of Medicine UII as a non-medical worker who is involved in the world of medical education to be more responsive when an emergency occurs in their environment. Of course this is very beneficial for the participants, moreover the location of UII's central campus which is on the slopes of Mount Merapi is very prone to natural disasters, especially volcanic eruptions.

With doctors from Faculty of Medicine UGM and lecturers Faculty of Medicine UII, students get a variety of very useful material including Basic Life Support and Cardiac Arrest and Cardiac Resuscitation. Cardiac Resuscitation or better known as CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) is actually first aid which is very important to do when a person is no longer breathing but his heart is still beating even though it is not constant, a condition like this is called clinical death. Fast and precise CPR treatment could have helped the person/patient return to breathing before biological death occurred. Therefore, this activity also took place the practice of basic medical skills and a post test to find out how far the participants understood the material that had been presented. In addition, evacuation and transportation simulations were also carried out. Because medical workers are not always placed in hospitals in urban areas with complete facilities and transportation. So they are taught how to make emergency stretchers by utilizing existing tools in the surrounding environment.

The purpose of this activity in general is to deepen the basic medical skills of students Faculty of Medicine UII to be more skilled in handling emergencies quickly and be responsive if at any time his staff is needed to help deal with emergency victims in the surrounding environment.

The State of emergency could happen anytime, to anyone and anywhere. These conditions demand the readiness of health workers to anticipate these events.

This activity was held on 26-27 1438 Dzulhijah H/18-19 September 2017 at the Auditorium of UII Medical Faculty 1st floor, Clinic Department Session Room and old 4th floor OSCE room. This event brings the theme of “Basic Life Support”. In accordance with the themes that are carried, this activity conveys a wide range of materials to meet the abilities of the participants which are the educational employees of the Faculty of Medicine UII as non-medical personnel in medical education in order to better respond to solving an accident in the environment. This is very beneficial for the participants, moreover the location of the UII campus located on the slopes of Mount Merapi is very vulnerable to the coming of nature, especially the volcano eruption.

The purpose of this event is to expand the basic medical skills of UII medical students to become more skilled in emergency handling and respond quickly if necessary at any time to assist victims in the surrounding environment.
