Medicine (UII News) – The best people, are people who provide benefits to their environment. this became the basis for the 74th Anniversary Committee Universitas Islam Indonesia to share in the interests of the community, especially for underprivileged children by holding Mass Circumcision activities.

This was conveyed by Vice Chancellor III UII, Ir. Agus Taufiq, M.Sc when opening the 74th Anniversary Mass Circumcision Universitas Islam Indonesia, which was held in the Minihospital Room Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia, on Saturday, 16 Sha'ban 1438 H/13 May 2017 which was attended by 30 children.

Meanwhile, as Chief Executive of Circumcision, doctor Abdul Basith said that this activity was attended by approximately 30 elementary school age children who came from underprivileged families both from employee families, the assisted village community and the general public around the university.

According to doctor Basith, the purpose of this circumcision is to fulfill the Prophet's Sunnah, create a healthier and pious generation, and foster concern for others. This is part of Islamic law that must be carried out. Performing circumcision is seen as a noble deed, as a means of purifying oneself and proof of the obedience of the people in carrying out their religious teachings. Circumcision is a cleaning process on the genitals. This cleaning process is done by cutting some prepuce/ sheath covering the penis.

"Thus, the blockage that may occur due to dirt in the penile canal is lost. This means that men can avoid diseases originating from these areas. This has also been proven by research which states that the circumcision process has been proven (significantly positive) to protect a man from the risk of contracting a disease," said doctor Basith.
