FK UII Students Participate in Mesentrica II

Medicine (UII News) – Students of the Faculty of Medicine, UII, are back at work through their participation in a scientific competition among health students throughout Indonesia. In a competition held by student groups Lampung University Medical Research Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung (Lunar FK Unila) entitled Medical Student Fair and Tracing Creativity II (Mesentrica II), FK UII students participated as finalists in all branches of the competition which included scientific writing, written ideas, public posters, and essays. This competition was attended by health students from various universities throughout Indonesia.

This was conveyed by a student of FK UII, Rima Nur Rahmawati while attending Mesentrica II at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lampung (Lunar FK Unila) on 13-15 March 2015 / 22-24 Jumadil Awal 1436 H.

According to Rima, in the themed competition Infectious DiseasesIn this case, UII managed to pass 7 finalists namely Rima Nur Rahmawati ('13) and Faqih Shintani Yuslihati ('13) from the Scientific Writing Idea Competition branch, Amiroh Dewi Kartika ('13) and Anggita Dewanti , Hidayaning Nur Syahbania ('13) from the poster competition branch, and Filzah Amar ('14), Yanasta Yudo ('14) from the essay competition branch. Most of the finalists took the theme of malaria prevention in their work. Unfortunately, in this event, representatives from UII have not succeeded in winning the championship of all the competitions they participated in. Even so, as conveyed by the head of the group, Rima Nur Rahmawati ('13), students must remain enthusiastic in creating.

"Even though we haven't won the top 3 yet, that's okay. What matters is the experience. I believe everyone has tried their best. What's more, I am actually proud because FK UII was able to pass 7 finalists at this Mesentrica event. Hopefully in the future it can be even better. Keep learning and working, said Rima.

The 2013 batch student further explained that the participation of FK UII students in various competitions at the national level is nothing new. This cannot be separated from the encouragement of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine to continue to develop students' potential in terms of scientific competition according to the vision of FK UII which is committed to the field of research. Not only that, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine also accommodates the interest of FK UII students in terms of scientific writing in the FK UII SMART (Scientific Medical Activities of Research and Technology) Student Activity Unit. Even though they are still young, this UKM continues to strive to develop the scientific and research capacities of students in the medical field. Through UKM FK UII's SMART, it is hoped that FK students will not only continue to work and make UII proud in various scientific competitions, but also can become UKMs that produce great researchers in the future, explained Rima.
