New FK UII Students Participate in ONDI 2015

Kaliurang (UII News-05/6) – Basic Islamic Values ​​Orientation (ONDI) is an activity held Universitas Islam Indonesia through the Directorate of Islamic Education and Development (DPPAI) as an initial religious development program for students. ONDI activities are one of the campus introduction programs that are oriented towards instilling basic Islamic values, which are summarized in monotheism, worship, and morals. The implementation of this program refers to the references that have been set in the student development pattern (polbangmawa) which has become the decision of the Chancellor of the University.

        This description was written in the ONDI guidebook received by the new FK UII students when they attended it on Saturday-Sunday, 5-6 September 2015/21-22 Dzulqoidah 1436 H at the UII Faculty of Medicine which was attended by 184 new FK UII students.

Further explained by the DPPAI UII team Tian Wahyudi, S.Pd.I explained that historically, this program was born as a substitute for P4 during the New Order era. Apart from that, ONDI's religious training is also an entry point to enter further education on campus. For this reason, this program is an extra-curricular activity that must be followed by every UII student, because the test is a requirement for entering further religious development, namely phase I religious development –now under the name Pesantrenization- and LKID.

With regard to its implementation, technically, this activity was carried out by DPPAI and the collaboration of various parties, both the rectorate and faculties within UII. As a programmed activity, ONDI has several goals that can be achieved, including general and specific goals.

General purpose

Students can increase religious awareness as UII citizens and as Indonesian citizens.

Students are able to create an Islamic campus atmosphere and carry out the UII dharma chess function as a scientific environment based on Islamic values.

Special purpose

Students are able to understand and carry out the basic values ​​of monotheism. Students are able to understand and carry out the basic values ​​of worship properly according to Islamic religious guidance. Students are able to understand and carry out the moral values ​​of al-karimah according to the guidance of Rasulullah saw.

 

Bearing in mind that the implementation of a coaching program can be said to be successful if it has achieved the goals that have been set, it should be realized that achieving all of this is not easy, it requires a good work ethic and consistency from various parties, especially the organizers. Apart from that, the fire of student enthusiasm in understanding and deepening religious insights must be kept kindled, as part of the process of forming a strong mentality inspired by a complete understanding of Islamic teachings.

Religious Placeman Test

Placement test Religion is a grouping test for students in entering pesantrenization -Religious Development-. This testing activity was carried out to find out the insights or religious abilities of students, so that later they could be grouped according to the level of religion they had. The results of this placement test are categorized into three levels, namely advanced, intermediate, and basic levels.

The background of the formation of this program is as a first step to facilitate the next coaching process, namely phase I religious coaching. This is considering the diverse backgrounds of students, so that their religious insights also become diverse.

The material tested on students in the placement test consists of two groups, namely reading and writing the Qur'an and practicing worship. The practice of worship consists of taharah, fardhu prayers and several circumcision prayers and prayers, while reading and writing the Qur'an is reading the verses of the Qur'an that have been designated by the examiner, memorizing several short letters, and writing some words or arabic sentence.
