Anamnesis Scenario Quality Improvement Workshop

Saturday, May 14 2011 The FK UII PKPD PHK Team once again held a Workshop on Anamnesis Scenario Quality Improvement. This workshop activity is one of the activities of Anamnesis Learning Improvement activities which is also part of Program 4, namely Strengthening Student Clinical Reasoning Capabilities to Support Competency Achievement.

The workshop which took place at GKU DR Sardjito was attended by representatives from the Dean of FK UII, Study Programs and the block team and was opened directly by the deputy dean of FK UII, Dr. Titik Kuntari MPH, which took place from 08.30 to 16.30. Presented by two presenters in this workshop, namely dr. Tridjoko Hadianto DTM&H, M.Kes and dr. Santosa Budiharjo, M. Kes. PA. The two presenters are experts who have quite a lot of experience in learning communication skills at their institution, FK UGM.

The first session was opened by Dr. Tridjoko by explaining the Anamnesis Scenario Compilation Theory. He emphasized that scenarios are writing that is used as a guide which is a bridge between the ideas possessed by the conceptor and the actor who will carry out the role so that ideas can be acted out in accordance with reality. A good scenario is a scenario that is written clearly and can be acted out well. So there are two main things that need to be prepared in preparing scenarios for learning good communication skills, namely preparing written scenarios clearly and preparing scenarios so that they can be played out properly. A clear scenario must be written in full, not only in terms of topics related to disease in general, but also includes the acting that must be performed by the actor. The preparation of scenarios so that they can be played properly is by specifically training the actors who will act as simulated patients.

In the second session, Dr. Santosa shared experiences regarding the various efforts that have been made by the UGM Faculty of Medicine in developing the process of learning communication skills (anamnesis) and in preparing scenarios for anamnesis. Things that need to be considered in developing communication skills learning, as stated by Dr. Santosa, include the curriculum, plans and arrangements regarding objectives, content and lesson materials as well as the topic of anamnesis communication skills to be taught. In preparing the communication skills learning design, one should not forget the concept of learning skills in general, namely by paying attention to the stages of student mastery and paying attention to the time it takes students to master a skill. Skill learning must start from the simple to the complex. And students need a process of repeated practice until they can master a skill properly.

In the third session, participants were divided into six groups, each group was asked to compose two scenarios for anamnesis according to the material presented by previous experts. And at the end, in the fourth session, each group presented the results of the anamnesis scenario that was made to get feedback from dr. Tridjoko.

In closing, dr. Tridjoko invited the workshop participants to reflect on some of the things that were achieved through this workshop. The participants enthusiastically conveyed their respective achievements and the benefits in general for the FK UII institution. That through this workshop it is hoped that high quality anamnesis scenarios will be produced, which will be able to improve students' clinical reasoning abilities, as one of the competencies that they must master when they graduate to become doctors later.
