LEM FK UII Comparative Study to UNAIR Surabaya

Kaliurang (UII News-29/07) – Institutional needs are inseparable from qualified cadres who have competence and knowledge that can be developed. Science is an attempt to investigate, discover, and improve human understanding in any way. Every human being has the essence of learning various knowledge, both knowledge that is useful in this world and in the hereafter. Knowledge is universal so that it can be learned by anyone, anywhere, and can be applied in any circumstances in everyday life. Knowledge is not only obtained from books, electronic media, or individuals who are experts in their fields. Knowledge is so broad that we are able to find it from various sides and points of view.

This was explained by Harry Kurniawan, Head of LEM FK UII when explaining the background of holding a Comparative Study and Visit to Erlangga University, Surabaya on Saturday, June 27 2015 / 10 Ramadhan 1436 H which was attended by all LEM FK UII functionaries for the 2014/2015 period with carries a mission to "Strengthen brotherhood and build friendship".
"We can learn a science from a certain group or class in order to compare the knowledge we have learned with the knowledge obtained and applied in that group or class. The hope is that after we learn this knowledge, we are able to draw positive lessons that can be applied in institutional life in particular and everyday life in general," said Harry.

The Head of LEM FK UII added that knowledge is not only important in running an institutional organization. A sense of kinship, togetherness and cohesiveness must always be maintained so that later individuals of different types and different characters can work together in a clear vision and mission and the same goals. With the strength of kinship, togetherness, and cohesiveness in a student institutional organization it is hoped that it can become a great strength and improve the quality of an institution in order to achieve its existence and produce something positive that can benefit many people and for the progress of the institution itself. The organization is not a static thing, but dynamic where knowledge and internal strengthening must always be maintained and updated so that later the institutional relay will develop from time to time.

Furthermore, if it is associated with ukhuwah Islamiyah (brotherhood) in social life, then an attitude of mutual respect and respect for one another is very much needed, so that togetherness, kinship and cohesiveness can be created, not only within the internal institution itself but also can have relationships and establish good relations with other institutions. Even though sometimes togetherness, kinship and cohesiveness cannot be realized perfectly and completely due to the diversity of human nature and mindset, by maintaining good brotherly relations, it is hoped that individuals will be created who not only have high intellect but can also build and advance the nation. together in kinship ties and high Islamic spirit.

In connection with the comparative study activities carried out, LEM FK UII chose Airlangga University, Surabaya as the destination for the comparative study because based on the assessment and monitoring process by the Indonesian Medical Student Senate Association (ISMKI), Airlangga University has an institutional management system and organizational cadre system that are considered good and stable. In terms of organizational structure, organizational performance, and work programs, BEM FK Universitas Airlangga is considered to be more advanced than LEM FK UII.

"Hopefully with this activity both LEM FK UII in general and every department in the structure of LEM FK UII in particular can learn and share knowledge so that later it can be developed and applied in the management of LEM FK UII in the next period," said Harry's hope to the candidates.
