Kaliurang – In order to respond to global issues, and actively contribute to the implementation of the Islamic medical curriculum in every country and sharia-based hospitals in the world, UII Medicine has joined FIMA.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Dean of FK UII, dr. Syaefudin Ali Akhmad, M.Sc, after attending the FIMA council meeting and the 34th annual scientific meeting in Istanbul Turkey on 17-21 July 2017, accompanied the Dean of FK UII, dr. Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK.

According to doctor Udin, FK UII is very fortunate to be an institution that is part of the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA) or the World Federation of Islamic Medicine, which has 41 member countries.

The doctor further said that the event coincided with the African Health congress in the same location and was parallel to the FIMA annual scientific meeting. The FK UII delegation consisting of Deans and Deputy Deans was a speaker at the event with a paper entitled Islamic bioethical perspectives on health problems in Africa.

"These Islamic medical experts met in order to discuss the progress of implementing the Islamic medical curriculum in each country and sharia-based hospitals. At the end of the event, all FIMA delegations were invited to dinner at the Dolmabache Palace by Turkish President Erdogan, including the UII FK delegation.
