LEARNING UNIT I KBK CHILD HEALTH BLOCK 2005

Malnutrition

A 17 month old girl was brought by her mother to the Health Center because she could only sit up. His mother felt that the child's growth was slower than his siblings and children his age. Children can only lie on their stomachs and hold toys when they are 8 months old and are not yet able to say words. His weight is now 7000 grams and body length 70 cm. The patient is the 7th child and the mother was 36 years old when she gave birth to the child. When pregnant with this child, the mother did not routinely check her pregnancy and rarely took vitamins. When giving birth, the dukun helped her and she started crying but her weight was never known. Children only get breast milk until they are one month old because the mother is often sick and has trouble taking care of the household. Currently, children are still eating rice porridge and receive minimal additional food due to their economic situation. Mother hopes that her child can be as healthy as her older siblings.
