INCIDENCE AND CURE RATE OF ADULT TUBERCULOSIS PATIENTS

Tuberculosis is a health problem throughout the world, including Indonesia. The results of the 1992 Household Health Survey (SKRT) reported that pulmonary tuberculosis was still the main cause of death. Based on SKRT year
1995 Tuberculosis ranks third as the cause of death after respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Data released by the Ministry of Health (Depkes) in 1999 stated that the death rate for tuberculosis sufferers in 1999 was 1.286 people from the entire population of Indonesia, ranking seventh as the cause of death in Indonesia. The national tuberculosis prevalence rate was around 0,29% in 1999.
 
Research purposes. This study aims to determine the incidence rate, cure rate and distribution of adult tuberculosis sufferers with smear positive according to sex, age, outcome of treatment and health service locations in Salatiga City in 2003.
 
Research methods. This research is a type of descriptive research that is retrospective. The data needed in this study was obtained in the form of secondary data, by recording what was written in the patient status book contained in the national TB program book at the Salatiga City Health Office (Dinkes) on TB sheets. 03.
 
Research result. There were 2003 new cases of tuberculosis in Salatiga City in 82, 48 positive smear tuberculosis sufferers, 34 negative smear sufferers, from a population of 108.653 people in Salatiga City, the incidence of positive smear tuberculosis was 0,044% with a cure rate of 87,5 %.
 
Conclusion. The incidence of smear-positive tuberculosis patients in Salatiga City in 2003 was 0,044% with a cure rate of 87,5%. There are more female sufferers than male sufferers, sufferers aged 20-24 years are the most sufferers and most sufferers are in BP4.
