The Relationship of Family Social Support to the Relapse Rate of Schizophrenic Patients

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FAMILY SOCIAL SUPPORT TO THE RATE OF SCHIZOPHRENIC REPRESENTATION
 
This Scientific Writing (KTI) is entitled "Relationship of Family Social Support to the Relapse Rate of Schizophrenia", where this KTI aims to determine the relationship between high and low family social support on the slow and fast relapse times of schizophrenia sufferers. This research is categorized as an observational study, using a cross-sectional research design. Researchers took a random sample of schizophrenic patients who had been hospitalized in the hospital. Grhasia Yogyakarta from November to December 2008. The method of data collection was through primary data (family social support scale questionnaire) and secondary data (medical records). From the data obtained, there were 148 patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. The researchers only took 50 patients who met the requirements as a research sample, namely patients who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had experienced relapse (re-hospitalization). The data analysis carried out was where all the data that had been obtained with the questionnaire was analyzed using the distribution table and cross tabulation was carried out. Then the Chi-Square test was carried out and the result was 0,001 or the probability was less than 0,05. This shows that the relationship between family social support and schizophrenia recurrence rate is significant.
