FK UII Holds Molecular Biology Engineering Workshop

 

         Medicine (UII News-12/9) –  Research activity is one of the obligations attached to lecturers and tutors to improve competence, improve scientific thinking skills and the implementation of knowledge for the advancement of ordinary people. This research activity can be divided into laboratory-based or non-laboratory-based research. Related to research conducted in the laboratory, the Faculty of Medicine UII has provided research laboratory service facilities. This laboratory can not only be used for internal research by lecturers and tutors, but also by external parties.  

 

 

This was conveyed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia, dr. Linda Rosita, M.Kes, Sp.PK giving a speech at the Workshop on Molecular Biology Techniques which was held on Saturday, 12 September 2015 / 28 Dzulqoidah 1436 H at the Research Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia, UII Integrated Campus, Jl. Kaliurang Km.14,5 Sleman, Yogyakarta which was attended by 27 participants consisting of lecturers, tutors and laboratory assistants at the UII Faculty of Medicine.

 

        According to doctor Linda, the purpose of this activity is to introduce research laboratory facilities to lecturers and tutors as an effort to optimize the use of the tool.

 

        "Therefore, it is necessary to carry out activities to introduce laboratory facilities in order to optimize the use of existing tools so that they are put to good use," he said.

 

        Meanwhile, the Head of the Research Laboratory, Dr. dr. Farida Juliantina R, M.Kes as Chair of the Organizing Committee explained that the main session was delivered by resource person Jajah Fahiroh, SSi, Msi, PhD from the Department of Histology and Molecular Biology Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine UGM who presented material on research techniques related to DNA, RNA and Protein.

 

                "After ISHOMA, the session was then continued with the practice of the anti-HSV-2 IgM ELISA technique by the participants accompanied by instructors from the Research Laboratory. The session was also followed by a case discussion guided by a facilitator from the Research Laboratory. The activity went smoothly and ended at 16.00. The closing of the activity was marked by handing over mementos from the committee to the resource persons and taking a group photo," explained Doctor Farida. Wibowo/Tri
