YOGYAKARTA — Bachelor of Medicine Study Program Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) again received A accreditation from the Board of Association of Indonesian Health Higher Education Independent Accreditation Institutions (LAM-PTKes). In addition, the UII Medical Profession Study Program also won A accreditation from LAM-PTKes.

So said the Dean Faculty of Medicine UII, Dr. Linda Rosita MKes, SpPK to journalists in Yogyakarta, Monday (6/11/2017). Decree of Bachelor of Medicine Study Program number 0006/LAM-PTKes/Akr.Bd/Sar/X/2017. Currently the Decree of the Doctor Profession Study Program number 0007/LAM-PTKes/Akr.Bd/Pro/X/2017. The two decrees are valid for five years from the date of their stipulation.

Linda explained, currently in Indonesia there are 84 universities that have Faculty of Medicine. A total of 16 tertiary institutions have received A accreditation, consisting of 12 state universities (PTN) and four private universities (PTS). "FK UII is one of four private tertiary institutions that has received A accreditation," said Linda.

The re-accreditation stage, explained Linda, was marked by a field assessment by the LAM-PTKes assessor team on October 19-20 2017. The team consisted of Prof. Dr. Dr. Wahyuning Ramelan, SpAnd, Prof. Dr. Dr. Suharyo Hadisaputro SpPD-KPTI, FINASIM, and Andi Insan Sosiawan A Tunru PhDs.

"The assessor team assessed seven assessment standards which included vision and mission, students and alumni, curriculum and academic atmosphere, facilities and infrastructure, human resources, administration and finance, as well as research and community service," said Linda.

The achievement of A accreditation, said Linda, showed that FK UII and the Main Teaching Hospital FKU III RSUD Soedono Madiun had consistently given their best. This achievement is also interpreted as a manifestation of FK UII's accountability to stakeholders who have given their trust as providers of education in the medical field.

For facilities and infrastructure, said Linda, UII is currently establishing a Clinical Teaching Hospital located in Pandak District, Bantul Regency. This hospital was built on an area of ​​25.600 square meters with 260 rooms. "This hospital will be equipped with various supporting facilities such as emergency room, ICU, and inpatient units ranging from class 1 to VVIP," he said.

Currently, FK UII has joined the Federation of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA), which has 41 member countries. "The achievement of this accreditation is expected to produce be a good Moeslem doctors," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UII, Nandang Sutrisno SH, LLM MHum, PhD, said that this A re-accreditation would further tighten the teaching and learning process. So that the doctors produced are truly qualified. "In addition, the recruitment of prospective students will also be limited. FK UII should have been able to accept 230 students.
