Erwin Aritama Presents His Research at the National University of Singapore

Senanda with UII's goal of moving towards an international standard UII, Erwin Aritama Ismail, UII Faculty of Medicine student class of 2007 participated in the 9th Asia Pacific Medical Education Conference (APMEC) which took place at the National University of Singapore, Singapore, 11-15 January 2011.
APMEC is one of the largest annual Medical Education conferences worldwide. The event was opened by Associate Professor Chong Yap Seng, Head Medical Education Unit (MEU) Yoong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
 
The event, which lasted for five days, from 11-15 January 2011 at the National University of Singapore, was attended by lecturers concerned in the field of medical education, undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students from all over the world. According to Erwin, "This year the committee has selected the 60 best abstracts for participants from 50 countries with a total of more than 500 abstracts submitted. The theme for APMEC is "Toward Transformative Education for Healthcare Professionals in the 21st Century-Nurturing Lifelong Habits of Mind, Behavior and Action”, he said.
Erwin further explained that his research entitled Correlation Between Student's Motivation and Student's Performance in Tutorial Discussion which he studied with Satrio Waskito and dr. Umatul Khoiriyah, M.Med.Ed has passed the selection process in a very strict manner, so he was given the opportunity to present his research in front of hundreds of international audiences.
 
As the only presenter from the student element, Erwin's research presentation was quite a concern and received appreciation from all participants who came from various countries. "My participation as a delegation from the UII Faculty of Medicine is fully supported by the UII Faculty of Medicine Dean and the UII FK Student Executive Board. Hopefully in the future it will become a trigger for other research and more UII student research will be presented internationally, "he hoped. (wibowo)
