World Health Day Blood Donation 2011 CMIA FK UII

In commemoration of World Health Day 2011, the Center for Medical Islamic Activities Student Executive Organization of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Islam Indonesia (CMIA LEM FK UII) in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Sleman Regency held a mass blood donation social service at the Mini Hospital FK UII. The activity which took place on April 7 2011 was attended by around 40 participants, ranging from students to lecturers and FK UII staff.

"This activity was held in addition to commemorating world health day as well as to help increase blood stock at PMI which is always lacking. Apart from that, we also try to facilitate fellow students who want to donate their blood for others, because it turns out that there are also many FK UII students who have never been donors.” explained Baiq Diah Irawati, one of the organizers from class 2010.

This year's mass blood donor activity carries the theme: "One drop of your blood means a lot to those who receive it." This theme corresponds to conditions that often occur nowadays, where blood stocks are often empty in various PMI centers. This will be felt especially for those who need blood in an emergency to help save their family or relatives. Therefore, through organizing activities like this it is hoped that it can help overcome these problems.
