Department Profile

The Department of Surgery is one of the departments under the Clinical Department of the Medical Education Study Program (PSPD) of FK UII which aims to support the vision and mission of the Faculty of Medicine, FK UII, namely as an institution that rahmatan lil 'alamin, through chess dharma efforts, namely education, community service, research, and da'wah in the health sector of Surgery.

At the undergraduate education level, the Department of Surgery provides education that includes Surgery through the system problem based learning (PBL), be it through tutorials, expert lectures, or medical skills so that it is integrated with other branches of medical sciences. At the professional education stage, the Department of Surgery organizes professional education through rotation at the Teaching Hospitals and FK UII Network. The educational process for the professional stage is carried out for 11 weeks with the supervision and guidance of clinical educators including rotations in the room emergency (ER), Ward, Polyclinic, and Operating theatre.

Research and development of the science of Surgery is developed through the use of developments in medical technology, as well as the development of collaborations with various institutions and various scientific disciplines. Improving the quality of education and human resources is carried out through various training workshops, seminars and scientific presentations in various forums. Scientific approach Professional surgery with its sub-specialties and integration with the religious values ​​of Islamic da'wah in accordance with the Al Quran and Al Hadith is developed so that it is expected to obtain holistic and integrated services in the field of Surgery.
