KALIURANG (UII NEWS) – On Thursday – Sunday, 8 -11 Robiul Awal 1438 H / 8 – 11 December 2016 AD, two teams of delegates from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) with a total of 5 delegates, took part in the Kaohsiung International Invention and Design Expo which was held in Kaohsoiung Taiwan.

This was conveyed by Nurul Hidayah (FK UII 15) after attending the activity together with her two friends Felix Giovanni Hartono (FKUII15) and Rima Nur Rahmawati (FK UII 13).

According to Nurul, while participating in the activity, the delegation from Medicine presented two of his works entitled "BIO-TIC: a Novel Biodegradable Plastic from Suweg Amorphophallus Campanulatus and Orange Peel Waste" and also "iMun Application: Facilitating Access to Homecare and Telemedicine".

"The scientific work with the title BIO-TIC was presented by the UII delegation team, namely Nurul Hidayah (FK UII 15), Felix Giovanni Hartono (FK UII 15), and Rima Nur Rahmawati (FK UII 13) while the iMUN work was presented by the UII delegation team. others namely Alin Julda Qonita (FK UII 14), Susan Indriani (FK UII 15), and Didik Firmansyah (FTI UII 14)," said Nurul.

In the end, the process of awarding and awarding was carried out on Sunday the following day. Initially the delegation from the UII team received a special award from Hong Kong for the iMUN delegation team and received a special award from Thailand and Korea for the delegation team with BIO-TIC work. Later, in the afternoon around 3 o'clock the delegates from UII Medicine received information that two UII Medical teams had succeeded in getting gold medals for each of their works.

"We are very grateful for this result, thank God, the delegation from UII Medicine was again awarded the top ecological invention given to the BIO-TIC delegation, so that overall, the team from UII managed to get 5 Gold Medals and 1 Trophy," said Nurul .

"All because of Allah, we are just trying, Allah decides, hopefully after this, the other UII Medical delegations can also get good results, Amin," he added, touched.

Nurul added, the struggle to go to Taiwan was very memorable, starting with the UII delegation leaving on Wednesday 7 December 2016 from Jogja to Surabaya, then continuing to Taiwan the next day by staying at a mosque in Kaohsiung.

To go to the location (Kaohsiung International Convention Center (KICC)) the delegation used the MRT service in Kaohsiung. The delegation from UII started preparing for their presentation booth at KICC since Friday (9/12), and on Saturday (10/12), the process of judging and presenting their work began.
