Superior Scholarships

To become a superior student at a boarding school, candidates must pass one of the selection patterns, either through the CBT, PBT or PSB selection patterns pass a special test organized by Pondok Pesantren UII. This selection of prospective boarding school students provides scholarships  divided into 2 (two) types, namely Full Scholarship (Type A) and Partial Scholarship (Type B). The Islamic Boarding School Superior Student Program is devoted only to Undergraduate (S1) study programs in all faculties except Medical School. For the time being this route only accepts male students.

Full Islamic Boarding School Scholarship (Type A)

This path opens opportunities for students to get full scholarship in the form of:

  • Exemption from study fees which includes: Tuition fees during the study period, Catur Dharma donations, Student Institution Fees, Practicum Fees, KKN Fees and Graduation Fees,
  • Waiver of lodging fees and amenities. Participants who are accepted must attend education and carry out/follow the activities set by the UII Islamic Boarding School.

The conditions for getting this scholarship are:

  • Be able to speak Arabic and English actively (have a TOEFL/TOEFL®ITP score of at least 450) as evidenced through oral and written tests and submit a TOEFL/TOEFL®ITP score of at least 450.
  • The average value of the report card and National Final Examination (UAN) is at least 7 (seven) as evidenced by a photocopy of class XII report cards and a photocopy of UAN scores, each of which has been legalized.

Partial Islamic Boarding School Scholarship (Type B)

This pathway opens opportunities for students to receive partial scholarships in the form of pwaiver of lodging fees and amenities. However, participants still have the opportunity to obtain internal (regular) UII and other external scholarships. Participants who are accepted are also required to attend education and carry out/follow activities set by the UI Islamic Boarding School.

The conditions for getting this scholarship are:

  • Be able to speak Arabic and English actively (have a TOEFL/TOEFL®ITP score of at least 400) as evidenced through oral and written tests and submit a TOEFL/TOEFL®ITP score of at least 400.
  • The average value of report cards and National Final Examination (UAN) of at least 6,5 (six and a half) as evidenced by a photocopy of class XII report cards and a photocopy of UAN scores, each of which has been legalized.

Registration Documents

To be able to register for the Islamic Boarding School Excellence pathway, prospective students must register with the PMB Committee at the GBPH Prabuningrat Building, Rector's office, lt. 1 UII integrated campus, Jl. Kaliurang, Km 14,5 Yogyakarta, with the following documents:

  1. Statement Letter Received from one of the selection pathways either through CBT, PBT or PSB.
  2. Registration Form as a Superior Student at Islamic Boarding Schools.
  3. Photocopy of diploma that has been legalized SMA/SMK/MA or equivalent.
  4. Photocopy of class III report cards and photocopies of UAN scores, each of which has been legalized, in accordance with the requirements for each type.
  5. TOEFL/TOEFL®ITP Score with a minimum score according to the requirements.
  6. Certificate of Criminal Record (SKCK) from POLRI which shows the candidate has good behavior.
  7. Letters of recommendation from community leaders or leaders of local Islamic boarding schools showing the candidate has good morals and is active in worship.
  8. Charter/certificate/certificate showing achievement and activeness in organization.
  9. Photocopy of birth certificate proving the maximum age of 21 years.
  10. A health certificate from a doctor.

Islamic Boarding School Selection Schedule
