7 Minimum Competency Standards for Doctors

I swear by the name of Allah the Most Great:
– Remembering Allah in carrying out my profession
– Protect the human soul in all stages and all circumstances
– Do everything possible to save from death, disease and anxiety.

Paragraph after paragraph The Muslim doctor's oath recited by 10 female doctors and 16 male doctors reverberated during the VII Doctor's Oath Ceremony which was held at the Kahar Muzakir Auditorium, Jl. Kaliurang Km 14 on Saturday, 31 October 2009.

Prof. Dr. H. Rusdi Lamsudin as the Dean of FK UII, in his remarks stressed that the new doctors who had just been appointed to master the international minimum standards set by The Institute for International Medical Education (IIME) consist of 7 minimum competency standards that must be mastered, namely: 1 .) Professional values, attitudes, behavior and ethics; 2.) Scientific foundation of medicine; 3.) Clinical Skills; 4.) Communication Skills; 5.) Population health and health systems; 6.) Management and information; and 7.) Critical thinking and research. Where these seven aspects are also called the Global Minimum Essential Requirements (GMER).  

Another important thing is that all new doctors are expected to have all the latest Management Guidelines for all diseases, because the Management Guidelines made by various professional associations are based on Evidence Based Medicine, which can be used as a guideline for making correct clinical decisions so that malpractice actions can be minimized.

Secretary of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) DIY dr. Siti Aisyah reminded the doctors who had just been sworn in, that in carrying out their duties, every doctor must adhere to the basic characteristics of a doctor, namely, divinity, nobility, humility, and scientific integrity. just in case any doctor's activities reach the court.

Drs. Elfi Effendi, Apt, M.Sc from the DIY Health Service emphasized that the doctor's oath that was pronounced would later be proven in the world of work. Remembering that a doctor has many binding rules in his work, he reminded doctors to always be careful, prudent, and consistent with the regulated procedures in carrying out their roles in the world of medicine.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chancellor I UII, Prof. Ir. Sarwidi, MSCE, Ph.D., IPU, expressed his congratulations on the achievements of the newly sworn in doctors as well as entrusting the good name of their alma mater while serving the community later.

At the doctor's oath ceremony this time the best Clinical Education graduates were: dr. Bethadina Purnamawati Prasetyo Dewi with GPA: 3,73 and dr. Surya Budiman with GPA: 3,65 while dr. Bethadina Purnamawati Prasetyo Dewi with a GPA of 3,82 and dr. Milda Khoirina with GPA: 3,72.
